Perhaps it's the time of life when I first heard it, but I never thought of this song being about a vibrator, but instead of a woman hurt and scorned too many times and just wanting this picture perfect piece of happiness with a guy that will think of her at times and not always make her cater to him. I could see the loneliness there early on... it just took until today when I heard the intro for me to actually think of an interpretation that was much less metaphorical.
That's exactly how I saw it. We have a tendency to project what's inside of us at the time into what we see, hear, read, and experience.
I'm having a great time watching Brian. It's too bad I missed this show! yikes.
