I have been searching for the right sanding grit 'formula' for blending the clear on a blow-in. THANK YOU!!! Beautiful results....
Really clean prep work. Nice job on the clear pattern
Thank you very many! I needed just this. Lets see if I can one wheel bike myself through this with spray can paints and my through draft tent tunnel
Perfect results Gabe. Undetectable repair, that's the sign of a Craftsman. Thanks for another great video tip. Take care.
Thank you so much ! You are too kind !
Excellent job. I try to keep it. All in my mind.
Superb video, thanks for taking the time to make it.
Those colad sensors are awesome they sent me some to demo and I loved them
Great tips Gabe...thanks for sharing
amazing dude. I tell you what, I've just been working this trade for a little over 2 years now, prepping full time & learning to spray & getting in the booth more often now this year. I learn something new from you every single video I watch. I've never heard of a blow-in before & I'm amazed how well that turned out lol. thanks for doing what you do man!
Haha your welcome ! 😘
Excellent job! 👏👏👏
Man that's a great tip.👌👏👏 Thanks I was having problems with my blends but I will try it your way. Thanks a lot.👍
Much love I am glad it helps!
So much to learn from you.. Sir... Thank you... For taking the time to make such a detailed video for people like me especially.. Thank God bless
Thanks so much!!!! Hope I help!
I was told by a painter that buffing blends with the buffer turning towards the outside of the blend was helpful with not getting roll backs.especially if you have a bad one you gotta sand.
Hey what a coincidence I needed to see this it’s very helpful and great timing of this video being posted. I have to do a blow in today from a burn through I did yesterday trying to remove a small tap line from overspray that went further under my soft edge than I had planned on! I took you’re advice and just went out there and just started spraying for my first time with a spray gun and ended up respraying the front bumper and side view mirror only twice but resprayed the hood and two front fenders 4 times and ended up learning so much especially cause I had my girlfriend record me so I could go back and watch each coat to see what I was doing that needed to be changed and it helped so much! I tiger striped the hood the first two times spraying a silver metallic for first time probably didn’t help but the I realized I was not holding gun at a 90 degree angle when spraying the hood and I fixed it on third spray and wayla no more tiger stripes but I went tacked the side fender and then went to tack the hood and smeared the paint cause t wasn’t dry haha so that’s why I had to respray a 4th time but I’m thankful because I got a lot of practice! Thanks for all you’re knowledge and help!
Thanks so much !!!!!! Yes we learn so much from mistakes !!!! Glad you are getting better !!!
From Portugal my friend , keep working like that ,love your work and your tips, all the best for you .
Thank youuuuuu!!!!!!!!😁
Great Tip my man Gabe! Those sensor covers are the shizzz
Thanks for the video! Very helpful, God bless!
I love that booth ! Never seen one that lifts a car up
Great video Gabe 👍🏽nice singing on instagram 😃
Beautiful job Gabe. Well explained and great result!! 👍
Thank you !!
Man you really motivate me, thank you so much for an awsome tutorial. Very good tips for beginner painters like me. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Woohooo I'm glad !!!!!🤪
Very good job! Tnx for the info! Finally some clear and simple explanations :)
Thank you !
nice tip on blending clear thanks gabe love the sensor sticker
Thank you !!!
Cool sensor covers. Didn't know about those. Thanks!!
me either. i was told by the body man at my work that does all the bmws that bmw bumpers couldnt be repainted more than once because of those sensors not working with to much millage of paint.those covers totally fix that problem.you ever hear that gabe. i know you work at a bmw dealership.
Good work sir!
bro that is just amazing
Like how you give your teammate credit and appreciation, rare nowadays. I use SprayMax 2K clear but I had no idea that they had blending clear, nice! We used to use a few slow reducer coats to melt in clear blends, but your technique is much easier. 😊👍🏻
Awesome!🤗
Nice work. Thanks
Great job
Nice tip and as always brilliant work!
Thank you so much !!!!!😍
Cheers dude i wondered why i had a shadow in my clear coat must have got base coat where my fade out
nice job brother i learn more from your vedio and full support to your channel
You are a very good illustrator! Keep doing the good job
Thank you 🤗
Im gonna say your favorite word now. That looks NICE! 😋
Hahahahaha!!! YYEESSS!!!!!!! NICCEEEE!!!😍
un eleva-car dentro de la cabina de pintura ..me parece fantástico...buen trabajo felicitaciones.
Gracias !!
Awesome job my friend 👍👏👏👏👌👌👌
Thank you!!!!!😍🤙🙏🙌
That spray max blend seems to be pretty nice the axalta one is pretty iffy. I prefer using the blender in the gallon 👌🏻
marshpaint89 in PPG we have blender in a gallon as well, when I use the blender in a gallon the spot doesn’t even need to be polished
I love spray maxx. Great spot blender
Good tip bro
Hi Gabe. I am new to your channel. Love the content and the way you explain the process. Looking forward to your upcoming videos. Lawrence from Heathrow London.
Thank you so much brother!!!!
brilliant Gabriel
Much love!
Nice job
Great video! I tried to do something like this but where I sprayed my blender crinkled up the older original paint. But I had sanded that area with 1500 since clear was landing in that area....but I see you only used 5000 where your blender hit. Do you think the 1500 is why it crinkled up the paint?
Beautiful job man. Nice!
Thank you !
I tried some of that spray blender in a can just recently, I wish I had found it earlier now. Makes things easy. Nice work as usual by the way
Ahaha awesome !!! It works very very well ! Enjoy !
I've used the Sherwin Williams BS12 - URE-BLEND® Clearcoat Blender spray can stuff. Worked very well. Noticed "Jimmo" on Refinish Network using once.
@@RPMX4 so u use the blend instead of a 2k clear can?
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS why did u not spray the blender across the whole area? U stayed away from the place u based coated and clear coated
@@waynewilliams5802 I think blender is put on where the new clear coat ends. If you didn't use blender, and just stoped the clear coat in the spot, then there would be a a line, or some dry overspray that wouldn't stick, or you could see where the new clear ended. Blender melts the old clear coat, into the new coat you just sprayed.
No blender needed on the blow in of the base coat because it got 2 full coats of clear, going straight to the end of the panal.
Thx for a teaching greeting from Poland 😎
Thanks for watching!!!
Nice job my quistion is if you was to use a eg 2000 grit and then you sprayed the blender it would run am I correct?
Now you sprayed the blender on a 5000 gritt and you sprayed alot on and it didn't run I havnt tried that yet nice tip Gabriel thank you for the video
Excellent
Great video. also thank you for the walcom air blower recieved today in UK. fast delivery and awesome product!
Oh man !! Thank you!!!! I'm so glad you like it !!!!!😍😍😍
Great video looks real good. My blends were never consistent ??
how do blends done in this manner hold up to time and weather ? do they eventually oxidize and profile on the edge ?
What is the durability on blending vs painting the entire panel , I work on high end vehicles but i am afraid on those car returning in a couple of years , thank you for greet video
Do you spray the new clear coat over the old clear and then spray blender or do you leave a gap and then spray it.
Basically is the spot blender just a thinner that blends or is it a lacquer too? :)
Great video😊
Interesting the last bit at the end, I'm no professional but I'm finding with lighter color (satin silver) that it look okay at first, then different light, or after few days look more and more like shit.
Just found your channel great content. Thanks
Thank you!!
Hey I was recently put in a spot repair position... so I'm limited to what they use but I was hoping to get some more detailed tips and tricks for a pro ( no one there really knows much)... I can give more detail on brands and stuff if you dont mind reaching out. Thank you and I really enjoyed the video
Very nice
Does only the blender go in the 5000 area or does clearcoat go in the 5000 area and then blender over the top of it?
Does the spot blender cover the 5000 grit scratches?
gabriel the trizact p6000 is good for adhering the blender? or is it too fine?
Dude love your videos, you’ve taught be a lot and made me money😁
Wow that's amazing!!!!!!!! Hope you can grab a blower or something to support the channel so I can continue to make video 😊😊😊😍😍😍 thank you for your comment seriously !
MOTIVATED PAINTERS do you have a direct message platform for other questions?
motivatedpainters@gmail.com I can get back whenever I have a chance
MOTIVATED PAINTERS when you wipe down the bumper after the paint before the clear, what do you use to wipe it down and wouldn’t that leave streak marks?
On a small spot like this no it doesn't I tacked it with a tack cloth
Is the 5000 grit like a pad? Or like a regular sheet of sandpaper
Nice video champ,ty
Thank you!
I miss painting
Gabe...see u are useing static gun more and more ....i have been useing it for the last 6 months...wow what a diff..in the clean work
Thanks !!!! Yes it's great !!
How do u know when it gets reacted up
Verry helpful.
Awesome!!!👍
Very informative video, Gabriel. Thank you. You always get pro results.
I'm going to try similar fix, but clear coat and blend scare me. :D If it looks ok from 3 feet away, I'll be happy.
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Santino Gordon Instablaster :)
@Fox Harold I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Fox Harold it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass!
@Santino Gordon glad I could help xD
Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I keep another gun with slow reducer and just blend with that ... I use it B4 paint and blend into it and B4 and after for clear ...
Of it works for you it works lots of people do it like that and it's also cheaper! I just got used to the 1k spray max blender and it works amazing for me
Can't emphasize the importance of using the grits to your advantage in your prep. Amazing job
Thanks souch man !!
Hey man love your videos. Where can I order those sensor covers I do allot of BMWs. Great videos btw Ive been using standox blender in my sata and it works great, but I just ordered the same blender ur using it comes in next week Im curious how it turns out.
Awesome! You should be able to get them from colad
Very good job Gabriel!!! When you use devilbiss hvlp for basecoat how many bar spray?
I use the tekna basecoat at 18 psi
I thought you guys were located in the US
where to buy spray 1k max bland?? are you seller??
Hi Gabriel, great vid as usual. Just wondering, any reason why you couldn't improve adhesion of clearcoat blend by spraying a bit of regular plastic adhesion promoter before the sparying clearcoat in blend area?
Plastic adhesion promoter is to help bonding to problem plastics. You are not spraying onto problem plastic, you are spraying onto existing clear coat.
Why did he not spray the blender across the whole area?
Such an amazing channel brotha.👍🏼👍🏼 what’s been your experience on how long those blow outs last? My pop and I were thinking of offering spot painting, but we live in a small town and I worry about it not holding up very long? I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
Hey brother i honestly have never had one come back!! I think when done this way it last !
Obrigado pelo o video ,é impossível nao gostar deste tipo de conteúdo👍Merci gabriel....
Muito obrigado!
Can you upload a video showing your paintshop? Looks so great.
I did. Search body shop tour motivated painters
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS okay thanks m8 keep working like that, awesomes works
Hi Gabriel! Amazing work and awesome content. How long do you wait after spraying the clear to apply the blender? And how many coats of clear do you apply when doing a blow in? Do you just one coat?
Two coats of clear and right away the blender
Thank you teacher!
Brilliant!
Cheers
What would you recommend the best way to quick fix a very small area with polishing burn through? Would that blending spray can help fix this? Thanks.
Honestly if it on a bumper you could do a small repair but if is on another panel you should sand prime base the spot and clear the rest of the panel
Hey bro does the spot blender have some clear in there cuz i see the method is to bind everything together
I have no clue what's in there dude! 🤣
Hey gabe I was wondering what would happen if you happened to get some dust in you clear coat while doing a blend job. Would you be able to wetsand the clearcoat and the blender and then polish it or would it peel back were you wet sanded your blender?
It all depends how much you put on it. But you will probably burn through
Did u use 5000 were the middle of the bumper is we're the bag was... And was that a soft pad or hard on the polisher
Yes soft
Have you tried using One choice uniform clear blender in a aerosol?
I do not like it at all
A question... iknow your doing waterborn base..but the the clearcoat..also water base..or is tha solvent base clear?
Clear is solvent not water yup
When you say 5000 that is referring to 5000 grit sandpaper correct? 5000 on the far right side over to the left where your non clear coated side is you're about to clear coat. So when you add clear coat there will be a little that dont get touched because your 5000 grit sandpaper section is that wall between where your clear coat is and where clear coat isnt and the blender will tie it all together?
Yes sir
great job ! nice suit bro lol
I ordered a suit from Gabe and it is well worth every penny. Get one you won't regret it.
Wowoww thank you brother !!!!😍
👌
Hi doing Gabriel 1 question what kind of blower gun are you using in this video? God bless you brother.
Hey brother ! Motivatedpainters.com my fav blower !
Hello. I was just wondering what brand/model hood you have for oxygen? Thanks.
Sata visión

Thanks man !!!

DAMMMM you got a lift built in to the booth! That's awesome, sure it comes in handy. That's nicest booth ive ever seen. Im building my Mobile paint and body business at the moment. What do you think you would charge for a used car lot to do a small repair and spot in like in this video? $175 is where Im at now roughly.
Awesome yes probably
👍👍👍
I assume you use the same method an any part of the car you want to blend eg.blending top half of a panel to the bottom half?
I only do anything like this on bumpers
What's up Gabriel ? Hey have you ever tried painting summit White wa 8624 it's way off I painted the whole rear .. what should I do
With ppg evirobase is a good match. I would tell you to get the right variant and repaint brother
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS used a nason xl ok thanks a lot great video like always
That’s one hell of a paint booth. Never seen one with a lift, is that custom?
Thanks man!! It's a German made called wolf
If im putting multiple coats of clear, when do I add the blender?
You can do a little before you clear then at the end
Can the clear coat be durable with this method compare to just sanding and reapplying 2 medium clear coat?
I don't recommend on top panels
