NOTE: Donner replaced the 3.55mm midi out jack with a sustain pedal jack in the new version. The MIDI is only sent through the USB C port now.

Yesterday May 24th I received my DMk25 to start the learning curve and to be able to pruduce some songs of my own! this MIDI Controller even though it is not a high end equipment, as you say it is a good tool to start, considering the great experience you have and even consider using it in your creative process. very good and sincere reference! Greetings from Anaco, Venezuela!!!! \m/
Very helpful! I just ordered one….I’m starting from scratch
Great review, you convinced me to get one, Cheers👍
Very helpful in learning to use a MIDI DMK-25 PRO.
Dope!!!! I’m getting this one!!!!❤ thx
Thank you for this great content am just wondering what software are u using and how can i find samples
For this demo I used Reaper as the DAW, but any DAW is fine (Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton, etc.). I interchange between a few, but they all do what I need. The instruments were all virtual. I don't remember which plugins I used, because I have many. I would suggest looking into a DAW and whatever VSTI you need for sounds. There are many nice options you can find online. Some of them are inexpensive too.
Great tutorial, thanks! One question...: I'm trying to assign the Drum Pads to different notes and octaves than the rest of the keyboard to use as key switches for orchestral libraries. Is this possible to do on the DMK25? Thanks.
Yes, you can assign the pads to whatever you want. Most midi controllers allow you to custom map like this.
Informative and concise. Thank you. Instant sub due to your puddytat!
Would I be able to use a type C to type C wire for this?
Just received mine, and super disappointed : Donner removed the midi out to replace it with a sustain in. No indications whatsoever of the change, product is still called DMK25 pro, but no midi out. Buyer beware, if you need a midi out, this is not the product you're looking for :(
Thanks for the info Eric! This is exactly the type of useful comment I hope for with these reviews. I would have had no idea they changed it unless you told me, but I just added a note in the description.
Not sure if you realize it but there's this huge microphone and boom stand right in your face
Very strange indeed...
can i save voice to drum pad?
No, It doesn't have built in memory. It's only a midi controller.
Any free software that works with this
It's just a midi controller and it will work with any decent DAW or VSTI. Do some searching on Google and you'll find what you need...
How can u play without headphones
Speakers
Hi Jack, I had the opportunity to try a Donner DMK 25.
PROS: PITCH and MOD slides are MUCH better than AKAI joystick - comfortable faders and wheels, better than AKAI Knobs.
CONS: the sensitivity of the keys is better than AKAI but with a shocking DEFECT: the next note PLAYS only if you hit it after having completely lifted your finger from the key. If you play fast notes and don't completely detach your fingers, the keys DO NOT PLAY
Thanks for your input. But, who's Jack? 😁
