If there's an EP that should get the Spa Day Refresh treatment, it's absolutely Get to Work. Even if they don't add so much, just fix things players have been demanding for. Make the hospital, station, and lab accessible in Magnolia Promenade. If they don't, at least make them actual lot types so players can build their own, like we already do with bakeries, businesses, etc. In that same breath, every commercial lot should be a viable type of business. Imagine owning a gym, a pool, a bar - and imagine cross compatibility with owning cafés and spas. I know that'd be a pretty big overhaul of the business system (meaning, selling services vs. selling items), but still. And God, just add decent assets because the meshes from G2W CAS aged SO badly, then just refresh them. There's so much untapped potential with this EP.
True story: my husband bought me Sims 1 because he thought it would keep me from rearranging our furniture. It didn't completely cure me, but I do spend more time with my Sims than in home decorating, so...
I played sims 1, all the way through to 4. I’m now an interior & architectural designer 😂
My first Sims was Sims 1. I remember so clearly when me and my dad went to buy Sims 2 later and I was just so fascinated that your Sims' children would actually look like their parents and grow up.
I’m imagining an alternative universe where lil simsie got really into Tetris or something because she never played my sims.
I am hoping for a refresh for get to work like they did to spa day, I think they could add on shop’s and other things.
If you want to add more stuff: swingset displays, bicycles, playhouses.
As a real life Toy Collector, my SimSelf has been working on completing the My Sims and Simmie (those little gatcha capsules from Snowy Escape) collections and I have to say, it's as frustrating as it is in real life. Constantly searching for the one super rare you're missing, getting doubles all the time, paying ridiculous markups at second-hand vendors. It's aggravatingly realistic...
as someone who works at a toy store irl… you’ve got my stamp of approval!
This may be a bit of a mushy story, but of all people who got me into the sims it was my grandma. She had sims 1, sims 2 and the original SimCity games back when I was 4-5 in 2005. She had every expansion pack of every game from 1999-2015. When she passed I got a majority of her sims collection. Sims 2 is by far my favorite game ever because it was the game she showed me first and she even taught me how to mod 🥺
My first “sims” game was Simcity and that Sparked my love for the Sims franchise. I then started playing the original Sims game and have been playing since.
sims challenge idea: a lets play where the only furniture u can buy is the stuff u buy at retail lots (or the etsy-thing they have - basically, nothing from build mode allowed except for the walls, doors, windows, etc)
In a GtW refresh I’d really love to see a ticket/token system where like... you could either set a price for entry in general or you could set a price to use a given object (karaoke machine, washer/dryer, arcade games, bowling alley, etc.)
Sims 2 was my first back in the day. I remember how huge of an upgrade sims 3 was!
My first Sims game was My Sims Agents, I still like going back to that one every once and a while :)
Cute! Definitely downloading this. That open space upstairs would be cute to turn into a little children’s bookstore! Either as a “separate” business or an area of the main toy store.
I’m so tempted to refurnish this once growing together comes out. All of the new infant furniture makes me SO EXCITED. It’s so close yet so far 😫
The Sims 2 is my first ever sims game and that game made me fell in love with the whole sims franchise just because you can do a lot of things on it. When I got older and saw The Sims 4 release, it made me really excited.
I always forget about the retail lots, since everything you buy mostly ends up in your inventory. I would love a refresh on Get To Work where you need to go to a retail lot to obtain certain items, or just something which makes you want to visit them. I miss the cohesiveness in the retail lots.
i never used the collection system until i started incorporating them into my legacies. now i keep a museum in the basement and kind of treat it like animal crossing where the first time i come across a collectible, it goes into the museum. it's actually rly fun rediscovering the collection system! i feel like ppl complain abt how shallow ts4 is but...it's rly not. we just overlook a lot of it.
