Anthony Bourdain always said, 'when traveling, eat at the street vendors. They make their living feeding their friends and neighbors. If the food is bad, or they make people sick, they go out of business. That melon at the hotel breakfast bar is far more likely to poison you.' it's also pretentious to be like "oh i dine in to nice, luxurious places and always make it an experience"
not everyone has the time to make every meal special. not everyone has the money to make every meal special. not every chef has the means to open a dine-in restaurant. people do what they have to to get by. even if he doesn't enjoy food trucks, his dismissive attitude towards them really came off pretentious
