The funniest DCI moments happen not during performances but during rehearsal, on buses, during meal times, in the showers, on free days etc. Moments that the public will most likely never see
@@devlinmangan4355 the point of waiting would be to not break the standstill of that moment there and doing while moving would be a bit more subtle, as everyone is moving too, if that makes sense.
@@christophersonlevi i get that, but since drums can be very difficult to put on, especially tenors, adding fast marching to that will only make it impossible, so what he did was ok, because he was also removing a potential obstacle, another acceptable thing to do would as soon as movements happened again, the player would take the instrument to the sideline to get it on and find the right time to reinsert themselves into the drill. But since dropping your drums in front of a large audience, I can imagine he was a bit stressed and wasn’t thinking about that option and took the other one
@@devlinmangan4355 yeah, I agree, drums are a whole other beast, very different from flags and weapons. I (obviously) don't know their drill but I definitely think he did the right thing, especially since Ive been marching long enough to sense some sort of move in his direction. it just bothered my guard brain lol
Reminds me of a time during rehearsal when one of our tenor drum players say the guard running some sets and said "slay guard !!" And then immediately fell onto his face (ONTO HIS DRUM) it was the funniest thing ever
Okay since nobody is going to address this, Im in 7th grade and at 0:14 I want you to pause it, thats what i feel like before playing but then Im like, oh wait i have perfect pitch ill just match what the other trumpet player is doing, and I breeze through it, except friday tests where we have to play scales and shit that stuffs hard
Bro at your age all you need to do is play confident and practice. Trust me, just 30 minutes of practice a day and I can almost guarantee you'll be the best trumpet by far.

Idk who’s more lucky, the snare player for having a merciful judge or the tenor player who barley missed the drum. I’m thinking the tenor player.
And it just missed the quad player too, it could’ve caused some problems if the snare was just a little bit more to the right lmao
