Revolutionary Audio: KV2 ESR106 and EX28 Active Column Unveiled

KV2 Audio is a producer of high-quality sound systems located just south of our border, specifically in the Czech Republic. Founded by audio industry veteran George Krampera, the company steadfastly follows a path that emphasizes creating speaker sets according to the "old school" philosophy, meaning with minimal use of digital processing in sound. At this year's Prolight + Sound fair in Frankfurt, KV2 Audio introduced new products of the brand - a new member of the ESR family dedicated to permanent installations and the mobile speaker set EX28.

The ESR series was developed for a market niche - for solutions where an "all-in-one" sound system is needed to provide clear and detailed sound reproduction over a large area. The new member, ESR106, is a 3-way columnar system with active crossover and built-in drive, offering high-quality reproduction of vocals and music in demanding acoustic spaces. Utilizing eight 6-inch low-frequency drivers, two 6-inch midrange speakers, and a single 1-inch high-frequency driver mounted on a wide-dispersion tube, the ESR106 represents one large point source.
Each part of the system is constructed to maintain the proportion of the element's size to the wavelength produced, ensuring that the radiated power remains constant and balanced across the system's frequency range. The ESR106 has precisely designed coverage in the low and mid frequencies to reduce reflections in rooms. The ESR106 is controlled and powered by the dedicated ESR2600D amplifier, utilizing KV2 Audio's proprietary SLA technology.
