I saw this building in early 2014 and was appalled. Weekday Cross is the historic heart of the city, that has now been defiled. The damage that architects do to the fabric of our urban centres knows no bounds, as witnessed by Maid Marion Way and other fine examples.
Thank You for making this film, Nottingham has gone through hard times. I hope we can produce a Phoenix from the Broadmarsh and not a Pink-Rabbit AKA Nottingham Contemporary. Not a fan of the Contemporary lacks appeal, and the art only appeals to academics and the elites. Very little of nostalgia or patriotism that the average Brit can cheer and visit.
Developers and "improvers" slowly destroyed Nottingham. The few nice buildings that remain here and there are just vestiges that accidentally survived.
I disagree. Nottingham has risen to be the centre of many popular media centres and sports centres (more sports facilities per head than any other city in Europe), has a one of the world's best public transport systems as voted by many, Victoria Centre was built in the early 1970s and has had vast improvements since, becoming a popular shopping centre where there was none previously. In general, its the transport and entertainment services that have truly grown. Places have fell, but new ones have arisen, as with any town or city. It's common for people to think that the current is the worst, as people have always felt throughout history, but the truth is very different.
Alex Hodgkinson Interesting opinion but don't forget the fact that there were trams in Nottingham in the first half of the 20th century and then "improvers" pulled them all up and destroyed them. Then of course, they were all put back down not long after, just to prove to you how short sighted planners can be. The Victoria centre destroyed a very beautiful building that could have easily been converted into the modern amenities that fill the concrete monstrosity that is there now. The Victoria centre draws business away from the centre which damages business there and results in empty shops.
It's a disgrace of a building, especially when you consider the history of the area and its surrounding architecture. Was this video made by GCSE students?
Sorry but I agree,its a mess, not like the to few remaining great buildings, I would not travel a foot to look at this building, not worth a second glance.
Such a shame that the site is now occupied by the ugliest building in its history. Architecture for architects rather than for the people - the modern curse!

i liken this as a 'carbuncle' in Nottingham, and, absolutely disgusting, having destroyed Nottingham Victoria Railway Station.
