- Revell 68 Dodge Dart HEMI 2n1 Finished!!!!
Revell hit a home run with this kit. It went together like a dream. I had zero fit problems. Even the bumpers dropped on without any adjusting or sanding. They just fit.
I painted the exterior with Tamiya’s Titanium Gold, and the interior got painted with Tamiya’s Dark Yellow. Then three coats of Quick Shine. I used the smallest LED’s I’ve ever seen and wired up as much as I could see. Out of all the wiring I think the dome light made the biggest difference. You can see inside a lot better.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone for following along, your thumbs up, and comments. I sure had fun.

Brother if you don't win something with that, then they don't know what they are looking at
Damn!!! That is beautiful
Ellis, thank you very much. It was a kit that I've wanted to build for a long time. I wish I could have done all that I wanted to do with it. How've you been, I haven't heard from you in a bit. I hope all is well.
Mark,a fantastic build...great tip on the mechanical pencil.Truthfully,I expected you to try and get a red LED in the end of one of those cigarettes 😉
Thank you. I think the pencil looks a lot better than the one's I've used panel liner on. To be honest with you, I tried to run a piece of fiber optics up to the ashtray, but it kept kinking and I gave up. LOL Maybe next time.
Totally awesome that's a first place contest winner 🏆. From lights to details. Great 👍
You are too kind. I add a lot of little things to my builds, but they aren't anywhere near winners, but I sure have fun building them.
Wow! You sure nailed it. Adding all those little details along the way sure paid off. The end result is one stunning model.
Thank you very much. It's one of those kits that fits together so well that you have extra time to add a lot of little things.
Wow. Great job. Love the LEDs and the hidden gem is the windshield washer fluid.
Thank you very much. I will be using the LEDs wherever I can. It took me way too long to figure out that mix. I was going so dark with the light blue. Now I realize that less is more.
Absolutely fantastic! The dome light blows me away.
Thank you. Give it a try. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be. The next car I light I will do a video on how I do them. I am a butcher with them, but the end results came out ok.
WOW Mark !!! What a ride! It came out a true winner. Love all the detail you did. The story with the guys at the end was awesome too.
More tips too. You never stop giving great ideas man your the best. The red on the hood vents looks cool. I hope you don't lose points for the headlight bleed. I couldn't see it on the video. Can't wait for the unboxing. Thanks for all the great pictures at the end and all the videos you do.
Thanks buddy. I got just about all I could out of this one. It was a great kit that fit well. That makes it easy to do extra. Out of all the tips I've posted I'll bet only two or three were my own ideas. I just give back what was given to me. I just got the unboxing video edited, and hope to have it on line by 8 am. Thanks again for following along, and for all the kind words. It really keeps me going.
Nice work Mark. For having snickerbar fingers, you did an amazing job on the fine details.
LOL. Thank you very much. It is a very well designed kit and it just about falls together.
Wow Mark, what a fantastic build!! Absolutely amazing 👏
Thank you very much.
Somehow I missed the detailing of the grille. It turned out great, detail looks like a 1:1 in pictures.
Thank you very much. That grill was a lot easier than I thought it would have been. The mold lines were deep enough to hold the paint and let you work around it.
Beautiful build! I regret trading my Dart kit now. LOL!
Thank you. I loved buiding it.
Wow! Super awesome Mark! All the details really make it come together in a super clean build. Awesome.
Thank you very much. The kit made doing the detail work easy.
Man Mark that came out awesome. The engine bay looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Ron
Ron, thank you very much for following along. I sure had fun with this one.
A very nice job! Another kit I need to get, maybe two to do both stock and drag! 😎👍
The gold color looks really good.
Thank you very much. I would like to do the Hemi drag car too. It is a really fun build. I was going to use the gold as a base color, but it looked so good I left it. LOL
Such a sweet build. That interior looks amazing.
Thank you very much. This was a very nice kit to work with. It made it easy on me.
That’s all around awesome. The lights are perfect, just the right colors! Nice job!
Thank you very much. Believe it or not, all those LEDs are the same colors. I just used Tamiya Clear red and orange on the turn signals. Worked like a dream.
Excellent looking build Sir the crew look busy at work lol tip for ya you can run 20 SMD'S of the CR2032 button batteries with resistors or 5v mains Just finished the 56 Chevy yesterday with the lights 👍👍
I didn't know that. Thank you. I'll jump over and check it out.
Well this has turned out Great!! Really nice work Mark! Looking forward to the big reveal.
Thank you. I just got done compiling the video for tomorrow morning. I think I will stay up late and get it out there so it's ready by 8 am.
Turned out great. For panel lines I use the original color which I darken with black then thin it out for what I think is a realistic look.
Now that is a great idea. Thank you very much.
That car came out awesome! Love how the lights came out. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much. I am very happy with how it came out. It is a great kit.
Whoa! You and your crew definitely put in some great work! I love the lighting…definitely adds realism! 😎👍🏾
Thank you very much. I do have a great crew. I've never heard them one time complain about anything. LOL Those LEDs are a lot easier than I thought they would be. I just wish I could have run the little computer I have. I'll find a pickup or something like that to use it on.
@@grandpamarkshobbies that’ll be be cool to see a lighted pickup with all the features you intend to add. I know I’ll watch that. I have several lighting packages from Evan Designs that I’ve been sitting on awhile. You, sir, have inspired me to dig them up to consider future projects and I thank you. 😂
😎👍🏾
Thank you. I'm glad you are going to try the LEDs. They are a challenge, but a lot of fun and so dang dramatic in the end. Now that my unboxing of the Texaco filling station posted I will be doing an unboxing of a kit that will go with it. And that one I think I will be able to hide the battery. We'll have to see.
I literally just bought this kit today. I was glad to hear that this kit was nice to build. You did a awesome job on this car. Thank you for sharing your terrific build with us. 👍
Thank you very much. You are going to have a lot of fun with this kit. It all fits together so nicely that you shouldn't have any problem with the build. Have fun.
@@grandpamarkshobbies I really look forward to this kit. It's been on my build list for quite a while. Thanks for the inspiration.
You are very welcome. Let me know how it goes.
@@grandpamarkshobbies I certainly will. Interestingly enough I’ve just started airbrushing my models so this should be interesting. I will eventually get me one of those Gaahleri airbrushes. Take care my friend. 👍
Nice. I would practice on cardboard and plastic spoons for a while before I ever shot a kit. I still use a spoon to test my mix every time I spray.
Total Awesomness 😮😮😮 BRAVO!
Thank you very much.
I love this build ! . My rusty one will be finished Sunday.
Sweet. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
That is a really beautiful build Mark, very well done!
Thank you very much.
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 That is wicked Mark 👏
Thank you very much.
Outstanding video Mark! Detail on the Dodge is awesome 😎!
Thank you very much. It is a great kit to work with.
Dart came out great, perfect color for a Dodge, thanks for showing!
Thank you very much. I was very happy with this one.
Great looking Dart!!!
Thank you. It's a great kit.
@@grandpamarkshobbies Yes, that one really is.
Really enjoyed this build series and it turned out fantastic welldone,
Thank you very much. I had a lot of fun with it.
Amazing details, nice work Mark. All those lights working really makes it look real. I just noticed in the pictures that you did not colour in the side marker lights.
Thank you very much. I noticed that too when I was putting it on the shelf. There was something bugging me about it and then it was a goink moment and I hurried up and colored them in and re did the chrome around them a little too. Thanks for the heads up, because most of the time mine is in the clouds. LOL
You did it again. Looks great! Love the lights!
Thank you. I am very happy with this one.
Looks amazing, Mark! I knew it would.
Thank you. I had a blast with this kit. It was one of those kits that just about fell together.
Great build what a job awesome details on the engine!! Good underto & interior like the color! Wow!!! Thanks for sharing & info.
Thank you very much. It was a great kit, and I had a ton of fun with it.
Top job Mark, it really turned out just fantastic. It's a great color, & the interior matches it perfectly. It makes me want to go and get this kit. Your talented with the lights. I think the spare motor looks great too, the one in the car looks just fine where it is. Can't wait till the next one 👍. 🦘
Thank you. I do like the Titanium colors. There's so much you can do with them. I was getting tired of black and white for interiors. I will be using that tan a lot more. I am even thinking of using it on my pickup body. I used quick shine on a test spoon and polished it and boy oh boy did it come out great. I have an unboxing video going up tomorrow around 8 am. It's going to be a big build.
Great build!
You're killing it sir!!
Thank you very much. It is a great kit to work with.
AS All Way's A Great Build SIR
Thank you very much. And thanks for following along.
Superb car as usual Mark! You’re really inspiring me to try lighting a build.
Jump on in, it's not as hard as I thought it would be.
Great build Mark, looks fantastic.
Thank you.
Awesome build Mark!! That is an awesome kit!
Thank you very much. It really is a great kit.
Your welcome!! Yes it is, I remember building that kit when it came out, very sweet kit and car!
@@grandpamarkshobbies
Looks awesome Mark 😊
Thank you very much.

Thank you. The gold was a bit blah, but then the bumble bee stripe went down and boom it looked great!! Here's the link to the leds. I got the white 4002's
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DLCLQWR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Enjoy.
Outstanding. Lot of good tips. Thank you
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it.
Very clean build mark.
Thank you very much.
Fantastic build Mark!
Thank you. It was a lot of fun.
This is an absolutely awesome build. It is a great kit (I loved building mine, and will buy another one.), and the details are unbelievable. Revell really outdid themselves on this one. I haven’t bought them yet, but I am hoping Revell’s new Oldsmobile 442, and new Mustang are of the same quality.
You did an incredible job not only with your attention to the detail, but also with your wiring.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much. It is a great kit, and I think I'm going to get it again this winter and do the HEMI, and make a trailer and hitch so I can pull it with this one. I haven't seen anyone doing the 442, but Hipiguy did the Mustang. I was going to watch that one tonight.
@@grandpamarkshobbies There was another CZcamsr did the Mustang, and his series of videos was really complete. He pretty much shows everything about the kit.
I built mine with the Hemi, but did not use the racing slicks. Building one with a hitch to pull a trailer towing the other one is a great idea.
I'll do a search for the build. I'm very interested in the Mustang. Thanks for the heads up.
Looks great. Nice job!!
Thank you very much.
Awesome work 👍🏿
Thank you.
Looks awesome nice work
Thank you very much. It is a great kit.
awsome !
Thank you.
Nice 😅
Thank you.
Wow! Excellent build! Looks great! Where do you get your LEDs?
I got them off Amazon. Here's the link. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DLCLQWR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I got the white 0402 lights. They work with a CR2032 battery without any resistors.
Thank you!
You are very welcome. I hope you like them.
😍🏆🥇👏🏼✅
Thank you. I do love the emojis. I look forward to them anymore.
Where do you get your LED's? Sorry if this is not the place to ask. I know one place but I am not sure the size LED you used for the dome light on the Duster and am curious. I ordered some from a supplier I have used in the past but they are either to big or to small . Small in so small I need a magnifying glass to see it lol The small were listed as size Z
I get them from Amazon. Here's the link
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DLCLQWR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
These are 0402 and are so tiny it's not even funny. If they weren't wired I would never have been able to use them, but they put out an incredible amount of light.
Hot Damn that came out fantastic Mark... The gang did a wonderful job on the wiring on the lights. RIP hood hinges, we will miss you!😥
That engine work is top notch on both of them. I think you made the right choice on engine placement. Hahaha all 2 decals... You crack me up... 🤣
The gang should get the week off with plenty of pizza and Pepsi... 👍
On a unrelated Note....
Have a question?
Do you or anyone reading this comment have a spare/used windshield for a Revell kit #7620 1997 Ford F-150 XLT? I have search (for 2 hours) all my boxes for that windshield and can't find it. All I have to do is paint the body and it is a done kit... 😥
I checked eBay and came up blank, so thought I would ask the community for a part's "Look-up"...
Thanks for checking everyone! Email me on my channel page if you do...

I have the best shop crew in Mahoning county. LOL. They have never one time complained about anything. Those dang hood hinges ticked me off so bad. I had trouble getting them to land right in the first place, I kind of knew thay were going to mess with me. I even use the right glue and let it sit overnight. I got lucky when one of the mirrors flipped out of the tweezers and stuck to my shirt instead of flying across the room.
I looked to see if I had anything that would work. Maybe shoot Revell a line. They are amazing about sending things out. I had a windshild that was short molded and they sent me one that came in four days. That's why I tend to go with Revell just because of that.
@@grandpamarkshobbies Thanks for looking Mark. I spent another hour or so today looking around, still did not find it. Had some various clear plastic things and there all just to flat and the curve at the bottom middle is to much to even heat something. 😥 Awesome, did not know you could do that. Did you email or call? Where? I know questions and more questions... Lol

Not a problem. Here's the link I used for them. www.revell-service.de/en/spare-parts-service/ They are a great company, and will do their best.
@@grandpamarkshobbiesAwesome! You are the best! Thanks!

back in the day when i built Elenor i went to extremes 20 bucks to 500 clams and i took a picture of her in a garage from the rear and it looked like a real car since then ive been hooked on the art gotta take those just for memories sake have a blessed weekend my friend and rock on😁🤩🤣scooter out😎🥸
Isn't it easy to get deep into a build. When I did Zach's ship I had about two and a half years in it and well over a grand. But you know, it was worth it. You too have a blessed week.
Beautiful build Mark. Such attention to detail!
Thank you very much.
