And not a single person even knows that was a pantera riff....
I sure as hell knew it...... RIP Dimebag.
Doesn't give a fuck.
Still gives reply in an insulting manner.
Consistency isn't your main thing, is it?
Talk about making no sense whatsoever.
Musta'Drone I'm a Metalhead and man, you got PWN'D being all edgy. I hope that was a humbling experience for you.
not even the drummer
Rip Dimebag and Vinny
I wish there was a video of Pantera playing 'Like a Virgin.'
Maybe in their hair metal days...
Phil would probably have killed it, tbh.
Oh god yes please let the next Mandela Effect make this a reality.
Not Pantera, but Marilyn Manson did a cover of that song actually
Etch. A Sketch he’d kill anything......🤔🤘
The story behind Madonna playing A New Level's main riff is because the guitarist sharing the stage with her is Monte Pittman, who was a member of Prong and her and Guy Ritchie's guitar teacher. Prong opened for Pantera on their tour for Vulgar and so he of course new Dime and she learned how to play some Pantera riffs. It was done out of tribute initially, and obviously became a fixture of this version of her song done live.
And a point of debate for Pantera fans.
Monte didnt join Prong until 2000.
So cool
It’s fake
@@wkeil1981it's true and real
The inspiration moment of the drummer.
her guitarist here was in the metal group Prong and showed her this riff in rehearsals...and she decided to put it in the show....he did a good job, she's quite impressive on the guitar in this clip
i think impressive might be a bit of stretch haha
This is real ??
Good feedback..
Neat info.
Monte Pittman aka Rock God is the man!
Many don't know that when Madonna started playing guitar and drums in underground punk rock bands like Breakfast clubs and Emmys.
More like "A Nu Level".
accurate af
Ain't nothing wrong with Nu Metal \
n//
Hahaha
Worse
That was a good one
+Alejandro Mojica exacto men
Alejandro Mojica yo no le veo lo malo ami me pareció bueno el mini cover lml xD
Si lo tocó en vivo y sin playback Maddona toca muy bien.
@@AjelandroMojica EL gram DIMEBAG DARREL Y EL GRUPO PANTERA
Well it's settled, we can expect a Pantera reunion with Madonna filling in for dime
best comment ever
man, dime never died i guess, he just switched gender and became a part of a pop titan
ULTRA RAGE KIDD Zakk wylde could possibly
lmfao
Paul Ainsile this generation would be all for it
A lot of hate towards a musician who's just showing some respect. Damn. It's not like she hopped on the bandwagon and recorded a cover to release it in an attempt to profit from the tragedy. I'm a metalhead who hates just about all pop music, but Christ, give some credit when it's due. This was pretty unique and a bit ballsy of her to do during, not a festival with various style artists, but a solo performance of her own with only her fanbase. You know what else is respectable about this? She didn't go for the most recognizable and easiest Pantera classic, "Walk", like most bands have done, even in our own genre. And yes, she has openly been a fan of metal since day one, and if you're familiar with metal's creation and the first decade of Black Sabbath, you'd know this. Both Ozzy and Iommi even make reference to that in their books. During warm up before a gig, there was a chick backstage trying to meet the band, banging her head to the song they were rehearsing. They met her, she expressed her love for their music and the metal genre in general, but it wasn't until later that they had learned the young woman was Madonna. We're talking like, three decades before this performance and tribute took place, so I think that it's fairly evident and accurate to say that just because she doesn't perform metal music as an artist, it doesn't mean she doesn't love and appreciate heavy music as a fan.
Mr Sadistik 🤘🏿
Does people don't know that Madonna was a Punk Rock Drummer in the 80's?
She can Rock
then she became a cake masher
The drummer is really good.
this is real love.. I had heard she and Darrell were penpals for like 15 years... this kinda cures my hate for humanity a little... that the Queen of Pop would incorporate her buddies' music into hers.. thank you Madonna for being so cool and human.. I just wish this was spoke of more openly.. itd be nice for metal fans and pop fans to have something like this to share
the fact that she worked in a pantera riff into one of her songs is something. Poeple now a days dont give respect to incredible musicians like that.
Sadly 90% of those fans never heard that lick till then
It's a riff not a lick
I knew what it was and I was proud of her for having the guts to play that. I was at Madison Square Garden when I saw my first show of that tour.
@@TheRealDTLew I was at that show too! Practically had to pick my jaw up off the floor cause I couldn't believe it was what I thought I was hearing
And what's the problem?
If Madonna plays your riffs, it means you did it right...
Dimebag Darrelll GOD!!! ❤❤❤
I've never been a Madonna fan but.....respect off the charts here 🤘🤘🤘
Think about how many whipped men were there with their wives or girlfriends and were just like "Fuck Yeah, this was worth it"
+thepspman116 lolololololol.
Lol yeah you can hear them react in the audience
She's posted videos of her playing Zeppelin too. She's really playing it, and I gotta give her mad respect for shouting out to Dime.
Nailed it. She just brought Pantera to an audience who probably had NO CLUE what they were listening to - they paid to see her, she gave them a little piece of heaven. That there's respect, son.
Sadly they still don't know who Pantera is....
@@girthbrooks8606 We know who they are lol. I think you're forgetting that a lot of us Madonna fans are kind of music snobs lol. The fact that the song that he's playing this over samples Abbas give me give me give me a man after midnight and you didn't figure that one out says a lot about you.
@@Chelaxim U don't know what you mean, what your getting at, if I look stupid or not, but right on... 👍 The Great Southern Trendkill is the best album ever made, especially once you know the background behind it...
Wrong. One riff played in drop d incorrectly is hardly nailing it. Alternate picking is the easy part and she can't get that...
nailed it? like those others you are a cakeboy as well!
It's a moving, wonderful hommage. Music should have no boundaries
A well done tribute to Dimebag, one of the best guitar players ever. He would've been happy about it!
It's really impressive to see this at a pop concert, there's so much energy. I just don't like the kind of music she does, but she earned my respect.
She's obviously not great at playing guitar (and I think she never claimed to be a guitar master or metal), but at least she's playing live and she sounds decent! But I'm crying for the guitar she sexually molested :(
Anyway, her drummer rocks!
Well said... she earned mine as well. Pink did the same thing when she covered Led Zeppelin
it probably isn't a tribute, she or they just like the riff
The drummer tore that shit up! 👍🏼
She's showing respect, show some respect, the tributes well done.
She should put on a pink beard for this part.
I'm not a Madonna fan but this is cool, drummer is awesome
I bet she didn't play a single note on that guitar...
And are you experienced in live music at all? What do you think the other guitarist is doing? He's playing the main rhythm. at least this is what i believe, from what I could see. Madonna is doing either nothing, or just some chords at a very low volume. Not to be heard. This is what REALLY happens among professionals at that level. Plus, mine is a bet, if you can read at all. I'm not saying i know it. you seem to be much experienced though. you know it for sure. wow.
you should sort much more than just your ears. Maybe your life.
+lucasghiri i dunno, she was rubbing her ass on that guitar pretty hard...
The three boyfriends in the crowd going insane
The drummer was really into it. I would've liked to hear him do the rest of the song.
Madonnas brand be like "finally we get to play some REAL music"
best comment ever
Well in the 70s she use to be in 2 punk bands but the record company told her to change her old songs to pop and keep the lyrics
Her guitarist for the tour was Monte Pittman who also plays with Prong. He the one that taught her to play that as an exercise in dropped B tuning.
cant just have him sit there and play nothin, lol
Touring musicians on this level have a love of ALL music. They're all stoked to be there. And usually the arrangements aren't half bad in the slightest. Even pop "bullshit". Life is more fun once you reach that level, by the way.
Honestly, knowing how good of a person Dimebag was he probably would of been stoked to see this because he wasn't a man who had a massive ego or man who thought his music was the end all be all of music. He was humble and probably would have liked to know his influence spread not just through out metal and rock but into other genres as well.
The mere fact that this woman did a cover for that riff shows you how much impact that band has on the world, and more importantly, on how people approach music since them
I Appreciate Sooo Much that She Did THAT...It ..SHE HERSELF,is A LEGEND and Knows How ..TRAGIC ITMISMWHEN A TRUE Talent And PERHAPS A FRIEND IS LOST
This is her best ever perfomance and love it.
I like that 🤔
The drummer guy sounds like a real deal btw
As a Pantera fan, I'm glad she recognized and played a tribute to Dimebag.
by dstroying it?
"And now I'm gonna hump the amp for loads of feedback so you don't argue about whether I actually played that or not"
Dude I had to watch this 3 times could not believed what I just witness Madonna you just scored some hot points
Bitch always had balls
Dear Madonna, for a brief moment there, you're on A New Level...
--a Pantera hardcore fan.
Never saw that coming. Hahaha. Pantera best mental band ever.
she bring the show to A NEW LEVEL!
She deserves more respect after this.
The drummer is the beast ..amazing!🤘🤘
A new level of confidence and power Madonna! \m/
A small part of me was expecting Phil's "LET'S HEAR IT!!!!!!" from Domination at Moscow at the end
I love how Madonna makes everyone talk about it forever, whether good or bad but talk, I personally like that tribute to Pantera
Qué hermoso concierto!! Lo ví en River el 3 de Diciembre de ese 2008💜💜💜💜💗💗💗💗💗💗💚💚💚💚🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
The drummer was in a New level of confidence... Black power
Tremendo, me quito el sombrero frente a esta gran artista...
Descanse en paz señor Darrel!!
I was there for that tour and yes she really played. And I knew what she was playing at the time . it was a fucken awesome night !!!!!!!
Never new she had it in her, she rocked it I give her that \m/
Damn, Madona's drummer fucking kills it. That dude is sick.
So cool. Actually seen them both live. 1994 and 2004.
This is like if a 12 year old who just learned their first ever riff, was given a chance to play a stadium with a professional backing band.
this drummer is amazing
My opinion of her went thru the roof when I saw this
La Reyna...una genia!!!!💜💜💜💜
I thought she was actually gonna cover the song that would have crazy! Indeed I have gained a lot of respect for her...
Amazing.welldone Madonna much respect....
Madonna knows good music ... I always liked her ...
A NEW LEVEEEEL
OF CONFIDEEEENCEEE (OF CONFIDEEEENCE)
AND POWEEEEEER (SUCH POWEEEER)
As a Pantera fan of over 20 years, I think Madonna should leave the riffage to brother Dime.
Scott Johnson I think she plays that shit better than ya so shut the fack up.
I think it's pretty cool that she acknowledges other genres of music.
jhonny Floréz she didn't pay it better than anybody stfu pussy
ohh ! thats pretty good:) you made my day madonna:)
First I ever heard about this. Cool in a way. Wonder if she really is a fan of their entire catalog.
AMAZING
El 2% de las personas del publico deben haberse dado cuenta en ese momento que lo que tocó era un riff de PanterA.
Was it really necessary for the turntablist to chime in?
Mad props! She flossed her ass with the guitar strings!
Very funny how the drummer suddently goes full metal.
great drumming!
Huge respect! :]
Madonna makes me wanna drive fast and "take chances"
Que genia..
All in all meatheads, they took the most badass riff of all time and played around with it!! Music is art, don't take shit to serious.
I can't stand Pop music but this. This made me respect Madonna
Good cover!
se llevó mis respetos
the drummer reallly good
Definetly Madonna needs a Metal album.
Madonna Fans love Pantera ! Respect
Glad i missed this up until now
90% of the crowd says, "WTF is this sound fucking my brain?" Whoever gave her that guitar is fired.
mira Madona !👍👍
been so long since i heard a new level. had to re-listen to it lol
the drummer is a beast
I like this Madonna
Se la rifó Madonna y si uno se enojó no habría por qué enojarse si lo hizo bien \„/
The drummer was on fire
OK, SHE can do it!
I bet that was Monte Pittman's idea.
Nice
LOL that was epic!
Good drummer
Well got dayum.... Madonna playing a lil dimebag... That's cool a.f
Goddammit 👀🤘🏻👹🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
after playing that riff , she ain't no virgin no more .
Damn those pop concert productions. Megalomaniac... So much energy too. Gotta give 'em some credits. And seriously, I don't give a fuck about pop artists making metal covers (or just tryin' hard to impress).
I fucking love Dimebag Darrel! I wonder how many people in the crowd knew what she was playing because the majority are likely pop fans
What year is it?
hahaha amazing
nice little tribute
