Seeing this really makes me mourn for an era that is by far classier than what we see today. The direction this world is going is absolutely disgusting. There was no such thing as cancel culture as everybody respected each other, no matter what. The junk being pushed today to further agendas that honestly make no sense serves as a classic tale of how far from grace society can fall when the ludicrous takes everything out of context and uses it as a means to play the victim when in reality it is they that are the bullies.

But I remember taking a car trip to Florida from my home in the North and I was stunned to see separate facilities for African Americans such as separate water fountains, restaurants, rest rooms, schools, hotels and all kinds of ways people were denied equal rights. It was an America I had never seen before as a ten year old child. Did life seem better then. In the time you’re referring to, America was one/sixth of the world’s population but lived on two thirds of the world’s resources. That was never going to last forever.
She was to me the most beautiful lady out of Hollywood that I have ever seen.I have loved her all my life.I wish I had known her back then although she was somewhat older than me.I loved the way she wore her hair and when I dated girls,I tried to find that hairstyle and looks...She was the best and I am still crying. If Frankie Avalon wasn’t already married at that time l believe he would have married Annette because you could tell he loved her and their chemistry was off the chain but l guess it wasn’t the right time😢

How wonderful that we're so fortunate to relive our past memories, with video clips, of Annette. We all were truly Blessed with having wonderful memories of Annette throughout her career. Annette gave us all so much and she'll never be forgotten.

A friend of mine and her two girlfriends traveled the 4 hrs to Philly ( no interstate then) to be on Bandstand. Annette happened to be the guest and my friend was in awe of her. She said we knew she was very pretty from TV but TV didn't do her justice. In person she was stunning perfection and yet seemed unaware of it. Bc they had come so far Dick interviewed them ( on the air) and they were on cloud 9. They also got Annette's autograph and said she was so genuinely nice. Needless to say in our one horse town they were the talk of the teen world and acted like diva's for weeks lol :o)

Now you can't even go to a 7/11 with out locking things up. We left our front and back doors unlocked during the day as we as kids in the summer would be outside playing, never even worried about break ins. Sure it happened back then but nothing like the craziness today.

The audience are wearing "IFIC' buttons. The sponsor was Beech-nut gum and their ads said that "Beech-nut" was flavorific!" The Saturday night show with Dick Clark was one not to be missed. Artists lipsynced their songs. It is nice to remember Annette as the pretty young woman she was. Her death via MS was terrible - she really suffered. There is an interview done with her husband a year before she died- and poor Annette is shown in it. If you are a fan of Annette"s I suggest you skip it. It is hard to watch. RIP Annette

I loved seeing Annette Funicello on the original Mickey Mouse Club. She truly was America's Sweetheart. Followed her MS diagnosis as my sister also had that disease. Both of them handling their illness with grace. Drove past her hometown on the day that she died, returning from a trip. She set the bar for all of us on what beauty is inside and out.

I went to see Babes in Toyland at least 3 times! I also had every magazine she appeared in. I just adored her.
While she was not confident in her ability as a singer, she still proved Walt Disney's intuition right that she could have a singing career...all without auto-tune, hehe. Her voice is not perfect, no, but it is clear, sweet, on-pitch, and more importantly..her voice, the way it needed to be heard.

The audience are wearing "IFIC' buttons. The sponsor was Beech-nut gum and their ads said that "Beech-nut" was flavorific!" The Saturday night show with Dick Clark was one not to be missed. Artists lipsynced their songs.
It is nice to remember Annette as the pretty young woman she was. Her death via MS was terrible - she really suffered. There is an interview done with her husband a year before she died- and poor Annette is shown in it. If you are a fan of Annette"s I suggest you skip it. It is hard to watch.

I loved seeing Annette Funicello on the original Mickey Mouse Club. She truly was America's Sweetheart. Followed her MS diagnosis as my sister also had that disease. Both of them handling their illness with grace. Drove past her hometown on the day that she died, returning from a trip. She set the bar for all of us on what beauty is inside and out.
