Lucifer’s VA is so dynamic and fun in his first duet with Alastor but his ballad with Charlie has a safe space in my heart for sure. Pretty sure everyone cried lol 🥲

when i was younger, my father was always present, he gave me every opportunity to make a great life, paying for the better education he can give and for everything i desired within his reach, even when things get tough, he helped me. For the last years, he acquired cancer, im pretty happy to say i accompannied him, in every hospital, with every remedy, giving my best for him to have a better life. Unfortunately, it wasnt enough, cancer take him from me, but at least, i make sure his last years was the happiest it can get. So sure, i think your reaction was pretty valid, similar to mine, when i first saw it and it just proves you have a great sense of empathy. Sorry for bad english, im not a native speaker.

There is a fan theory, that heaven got Lucifer to agree to the extermination by taking baby charlie hostage. Which would be the reason for lilith to keep charlie away from him aswell. He sacrifized all of hell to keep charlie safe. Its all speculations of course, but i wouldnt be suprised if thats where the story goes.
The whole "having professional singers as VAs" was also something Steven Universe did to a great sucess. It just really elevates the quality of songs in a show.

I just noticed, but Lucifer is on the verge of tears for almost the entire song, at the beginning when he says that he knows heaven won't listen, you also can see him wiping it off before he and Charlie harmonize and at the end in "I'm grateful you're my daughter more than anything" he's crying again
That moment they sing 'grateful you're my daughter/father' is like the final punch to the gut.

Sir Pentious in the background with his eyes full of tears was hysterical the first time I saw this because that was me during this song. The voice actors are all so amazingly talented, the whole soundtrack lives rent free in my head.

Dude your reactions are valid. Several of the songs made me cry when I first listened to them, and “More Than Anything” still makes me teary eyed. The line “I’m grateful your my daughter/father more than anything” is a sucker punch to the gut.

"Whatever it Takes" makes me cry because it makes me realise that that is how I am in my everyday life with my friends and relationships.
And...
"More Than Anything" makes me cry because I've never had that sort of relationship with either of my parents and also makes me realise how distant they have become over the last 2-4 years of my life.
More Than Anything always makes me think of my own dad, and how much I miss him. We drifted apart in the past several years as he changed a lot. I'd give anything to see the dad I grew up with one more time.
I also love that Carmella looks at Zestial, and his oblivious butt only looks confused as to why. 🤣

I love when people aren't afraid to cry to emotional songs/movies. "More Than Anything" is one of my favorites and I've found from several of my family/friends that it hits especially hard when you have daddy issues 🥲 2 in particular have been listening to it on repeat and it still makes them teary eyed
Interesting tidbit on "whatever it Takes" lyrics, Camilla says "I'll be your keeper" and Vaggie says "I'll be your armor" which are direct references and inversions of Bible verses. Camilla inverting Cain's rejection of responsibility "Am I my brother's keeper?" and Vaggie inverting Paul's instruction "Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." by declaring herself the Armor of Charlie as she faces Heaven's machinations.

One of the things I love about Hazbin Hotel is, considering its setting and characters, it can be surprisingly wholesome at time. Like the fact that it is only discovered that angels can be killed by the denizens of hell is only when someone is protecting her children.
More than anything is honestly such a beautiful song, that harmonization was just so good! 100% my favorite part of the song, you should listen to out for love too if you haven’t done that yet

about the "some of the singer are on broadway level". Well most of the singer are actually broadway performer :D Like Lucifer (Jeremy Jordan), Carmilla Carmine (Daphne Rubin-Vega), Charlie (Erika Hennigsen), Niffty (Kimiko Glenn), Sir Pentious/Adam (Alex Brightman)
Also, Alex Brightman(Adam) and Jeremy Jordan(Lucifer Morningstar) are both Jewish so it makes sense they`re voicing characters from Hebrew Mythology.
Niffty who sing 2 lines solo, 1 line with Angel Dust and is hid in the Chorus in the Finale
In the first song it sorta is a duet showing how alike these two are. Camilla killing an angel and keeping the secret to protect those she cares for. And Vaggie going out of her way to do anything even unpleasant things to protect and help her partner/gf charlie.
More than anything is one of my favorite songs.
More than Anything, Is top tier the best song of Hazbin... My opinion, probably because I'm a single father of a daughter.

I didn't had a problem with the song when whatching the show but seeing another grown man cracking up made me burst into tears as well.
More than anything is one of my top 3 favorite songs from Hazbin hotel because of the music, cinematography and choreography, lyrics and vibe that often warms my heart when I’m feeling down on my life.
This is what disney has been missing from their shows and movies lately. Quality and passion.

More than anything made my bawl when i saw it in the episode for the first time, now it still makes me cry pretty hard. (lol i have a complicated relationship with my father)
So many bad parents that hurt their kids unapologetically in this series so its nice to see things like this with Charlie and her dad.

More Than Anything hit hard for me. I was 22 when I had my first real relationship and, unfortunately, I was too naïve to realize I was being brainwashed by my partner. I was telling off my parents (especially my dad), I moved in with my partner against my parents' wishes, my dad and I would shout and scream at each other (each of us having a time where we restrained ourselves from coming to blows just seconds before one was thrown!), and the relationship between us was ripped away. we had been very close up until then (ironically, just like Charlie, my dad would read me stories that completely enthralled me with imagination). it was 6 YEARS until I realized that I had been nothing but a cash register to my partner and was back in touch with my parents. so hearing "all that I am hopin' now that my eyes are open is that we can start again not be pulled apart again" brought me to tears. then when I showed it to my dad, we were both in tears but we both love it, so much so that we made the song each other's ringtones ❤

Another thing I love about the cast being Broadway level is the deep experience they have with conveying emotion through singing. These songs are powerful. The lyrics yes, but HOW these people sing them is incredible. It also lends itself to their dialog extremely well in a musical way. The dialog flows and bounces a little differently. And Lucifer's voice is so rock solid and pure sounding. Incredible

I can understand liking those VA's the pilot came out years ago we get attached,HOWEVER.It's needed to understand that a solid number of those voice actors couldn't sing,some could partially but hurt their throats doing so.
Addict was sang by Angel's old VA and the song is *hardly* carried by autotune on Angel parts bc the voice actor wasn't able to sing properly.(Michael Kovach himself said he's wasn't a really good singer),some characters like Charlie and Alastor had two voices (singing one and voice actor other),and for a new show that's a hard no, also the fact it's a MUSICAL there will song after song each episode you need people who can do it and do it good so will land with their characters.
It's ok to cry. To be honest, I cry everytime I listen to this song because it reminds me so much of how things were with my dad and how things are now that we're both adults. And how much he has always been in my corner and defended me and just makes me want to say "I love you more than anything."

1) your first question is actually heavily debated in the fandom 😂 alot of ppl believe that if u die in hell, u become one of those eyeballs on objects (like sir pentious' hat) but there's no concrete answer yet I think.

@@mimikyubutitsactualyhornet we don’t know for sure if the angelic nature of Adams attack had anything to do with Best Bois redemption. It seemed more like the selfless sacrifice for those he truly cared for is more important. We also don’t know if Sir Pentious was redeemed a second before, during, or after being attacked by Adam. I think if an Angel just randomly took him out before he got to the war machine, he would just cease to be and not ascend. I also believe that the final act to be redeemed is specific to each person(demon) and being/almost being killed isn’t necessarily for everyone. I would love to see more of Sir Pentious’ back story before he died in the first place. It seemed like he was a general or commander in some way. Perhaps sacrificing others to save himself was one of the reasons he went to Hell to begin with and he atoned for that in the final battle? That would be cool. If my thoughts are somewhat true, I wonder what everyone final act to be redeemed would be (not to suggest it only takes one big act, but surely there would be a final moment when it really all comes together)

Jeremy Jordan is an incredible broadway star. He was the understudy for Barnum in the greatest showman, he played Jack kelly in newsies, and many more. He was perfect for this role IMO
One thing I love about this series is that the songs drive the story more than the spoken parts. More action and emotion happen in the songs than any of the non-musical parts.
If I'm being honest the show is kinda boring but the songs are absolutely amazing more than anything is genuinely one of my favorite songs ever

It's fine. It's hard not to get emotional with "More Than Anything". It's such a heart-touching re-connection between them and brings many who've watched it to tears. Honestly, I love an honest reaction. Music is meant to be a medium of emotions. If you aren't emotionally reacting to a song, I feel like the song's message has missed you. So for a song like this where its heartwarming and beautiful, tears are the right reaction.

So I'm about halfway through and at the point where you were talking about the Broadway cast and respect for the smaller projects. I will encourage you to seek out the CZcams pilot for this show where the voices were all small time Internet personalities and they did the music as well. You have "behind every demon is a rainbow" where Charlie is pitching her idea to the new station. I can't remember if there was others but you had Elsie Lovelock as Charlie and Black Gyph0n as the singer for Alastor and little bit about Alastor is that his character had a bit more to him because you can hear radio static and chattering as he was speaking in the pilot and his staff even had it's own voice actor.

lucifer been absent in charlie's life for who knows how many years up until ep5 of the series so yeah those two haven't really seen or understood each other all that much, but also lucifer has depression and did try defending some idea(likely the whole free will thing) in heaven which failed
