A tip for anyone not wanting to buy a table saw and get halfway straight cuts.. You can also use a long say 5-6 ft level and clamp it to your wood along where you want to run your circular saw.. You do have to adjust for the distance but you get pretty straight cuts. Its what I used to start out and it worked really well.

To those who left thumbs down and negative feedbacks on every video, I would say to them you're worthless, brainless haters! Go and look at his videos nine years ago from where he started, and where is he now! He deserves his success, and there is no other guy like him giving that much info just for free! You can learn many things from his videos only. Plus, if you ask questions, he will respond to you wherever he can! I would say to those be more appreciative and respectful of what he is doing because he already is badass about car audio systems, and has many sponsors and clients, so he quickly could stop uploading and doing any videos with no problems!
Big thanks to Mark for what he is doing and for giving that much info to us!

That’s a real good overview of the router and routing ops as well as the bits and template uses. I’ve used Bosch brand products and there are others out there, but as far as 2 1/4 hp or even larger as well as smaller routers, you can’t go wrong with them. Using high grade products and tools sets your builds apart and looks matter on these builds. Most customers I have are super picky. Do it right, do it once and don’t be sorry! Another great video Mark! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷

I have budget router mounted in a table and the other day while using the fence to cut a dado to accept the side panels of a sub box made from 1" laminated tables, the straight router bit started rising out of the router table, cutting deeper and deeper toward the end of the piece. That has never happened before. I was sure the collet was tight but maybe I had it too deep and it walked out...or maybe the manual clamp on the router wasn't quite tight enough. I understand how gravity can pull things down but having it head upwards was a complete surprise.

  • @m2autoworks

I use that bosch router in my table. The big downside is, if you run a dust collector in the box under the router, it fights the routers cooling and its bearing seize up in just a few minutes of use.

Hi! I haven'y seen anyone build a box out of carbon fiber and I'm curious if there is a reason why other than cost. I have a 3/4" mdf box and I want to get the weight down. Could I use a hole saw to cut circles out in a staggered lattice arrangement, then overlay 4 layers of 3k carbon fiber on the inside of the box moulded down into the holes making the inside surface all curves for strength then put 1 layer thats just flat on the outside mdf simply for aesthetics? Carbon fiber is significantly stronger than fiberglass. I would also add 2 all thread braces wrapped in carbon fiber near where the sub mounts as its an 8" JL w7.

Correction = what is useful is not the router itself but the router mounted in a router table. And I always recommend a heavy duty (3+ HP) router for router table work. Use the little routers for handheld stuff. And NEVER buy one of those 1/4" collet only routers.
Pro tip: buy a bunch of 1/2" and 1/4" ID rubber o-rings and slip them on the shanks of your router bits in order to maintain the clearance from the collet Mark discusses in the video.

Did you do the maths after checking out the website you provided to see if the manufacturer, Bosch, is lying about the Router being 2.25Hp or did you believe what is on the packaging only? According to the website link you gave, this Router is well under 2.25Hp at 1400 Watts. Your Router is 1.89Hp. I prefer Makita as they are practically the only Power Tool company that is not under a tool conglomerate unlike Bosch. Also, I will not buy from amazon as it will not pay it's workers a proper wage, it only pays slave wages.
