For the first time since mid year 2022, I seen something tonight so impressive and the one thing missing, the thing that won us the cup in 2021 and that was cohesion and what a time to find it, Im surprised it took so long as I know Goody knows just how important cohesion is as an ingredient necessary in order to cook up a premiership dish and tonight without our valued captain and and beloved norm smith medalist, we played a real Melbourne dna game, losing trac spelt doom and gloom but from tragedy emerges opportunity and shed light to AFLs newest midfield superstar Trent Rivers, he has renewed the hope for all Melbourne along with the rest of the team that is now a cohesive group once again, And to hear Goody talk about it and acknowledge it so many times in his post match press conference was music to my ears, Every premiership side since i can remember had it, look at Collingwood and geelong in last two and then ours in 21 all cohesive teams, kozy was brilliant again but alot of our scoring come from him or his assist, mc vee has arrived and earlier than expected, windsor is growing in confidence every week his pace is explosive, May and lever are amazing together again but Tom McDonald has been just as impressive and important back there, Langa's is recapturing rare form and ANB whom i nickname Classy cos he is all class, does whatever role the team requires and does it well, fritz is finding confidence and oliver could be on same path, new boys turner and hooch tholstope look like they belong, van rooyen improves and impresses every game as he grows in confidence playing in 2 positions but our forward seems to have bursted into life again last two week after it was given some much needed leadership and experience in Melky and it hasnt taken him long to gwt back into the groove either, I'm excited for jake and our season once again, weve been written off with our draw we have lft by the panels of experts, have been for weeks, but if we are going to make finals and have an impact, we need to beat some pretty good teams but as we seen Saturday, we can and do it well.. we need to pay freo back next and i think the boys will. Go dees and back them to win flag before freo game cos odds wont be so juicy after we flag them and make a huge run at a tilt for the premiership, timing is everything and I think we could be about to see sonething really special this year. I dreamed 21,24,25 ❤
What we learned tonight. We are better than them in the wet. But they are much better than us in the dry. If we meet them in finals we need to look at how much they cut us up in the first quarter. This Essendon side is extremely strong also. With Sheil back and now Heppel in the same side. They are going to take some beating this year. We need to be very wary of them if we meet them in finals if we get there. In the interest of not bullshitting ourselves if we meet them again. Which is what I thought we did against Brissi the first time this year:) GGWP tonight boys:) Very well done:)
