He's so organically over. Good in the ring, good enough on the mic, entrance music perfectly suited to him. And he's got the right opponent, at the right place, for the right stakes. And he's been battle tested, so whatever he gets feels earned.

Not gonna lie, I got kinda choked up when Hangman said he finally believes in himself after all this time.
He's such a relatable character and to see him get through his struggles is inspiring. I know it's just a story, but I feel that Hangman can play such a realistic character, because he's gone through it for real. Even if not, I can't wait for him to do some cowboy shit and win that damn title!
I feel like I know him, and I do. I have struggled so much in love recently(haven't we all?), and he is just so appealing. Can't wait for Full Gear.

Agreed, this needed to happen ever since they were at the top of the tag division. It’s refreshing to see a feud have so much effort put into it. They’ve come Full Gear with their story. They really made a top guy out of Adam Page!
I 100% agree. The story has been brewing for over 2 years and Kenny is on an unstoppable run right now. It is the perfect time for Hangman to dethrone him and free Kenny up to do something else for a while. I think what Omega wanted to accomplish with winning the title was adding legitimacy to both his character and the title and to me he’s more than accomplished that. This match feels really important and that’s when wrestling is at its greatest. I imagine what’s going to happen is there’s going to be a ref bump and The Elite are going to come out, The Dark Order are going to come out on Hangman’s behalf, finally fully united, Kenny is probably going to hit the one winged angel off the distraction the referee is going to be getting up or up by this point. 1, 2, at the last possible second Hangman powers out, the crowd absolutely loses it, Hangman will then probably fire up, hit Omega with a few strikes, hit him with the Deadeye and then The Buckshot Lariat, he’ll pin Omega while the Dark Order holds The Elite back and he’ll win the match. Then the Dark Order will go raise him up on their shoulders while the whole place chants “Cowboy Shit”. At least that would be the best way to book it in my opinion.

I don't think they blow the OWA yet. I think we get Omega/Okada V in future, on an AEW/NJPW supercard in a US stadium, and it happens then. That's the only place they could go to where they haven't been yet. That forbidden door's quickly turning into a carousel, and New Japan need a hand right now with how unlucky they've been with injuries.

Hangman page's story reminds me of Ichigo kurosaki's story from BLEACH.
-Both doubted themselves, limiting themselves.
-both have/had a chip on their shoulder.
-both became depressed
-in the end both learned to fight for themselves, not limiting themselves, not doubting themselves and their friends and most importantly they conquered their fear with Courage.

Nothing to do with the promo, but I really hope AEW continues to use this venue from time to time. The acoustics make the crowd sound so much bigger.
As great as that promo was...and it was, truly...it's his sigh of relief (and momentary prayer?) at the end that makes me smile. Page has come so far in just the last few years...in every possible facet of his performance. No matter what happens at Full Gear (and I've got a ticket to the following Wednesday show, hoping he'll come in as champ), his fans will remember this night, and this new declaration from him. Tonight he acknowledged his career is moving into a new, higher level...and that he's more than ready for it. I'm legit so damn happy for him.

Man, Hangman Page is the biggest homegrown AEW Talent. He has the looks, he can wrestle, he has relatable character, he is still improving in promos, this dude has it all.
It'll have been almost 3 and a half years since Omega and Page faced in the main event of a major company PPV.
It's been a ride and some of the best storytelling in modern wrestling history.

He did it! Matt Jackson's nod, Excalibur's always excellent call of "BUCKSHOT LARIAT!" and then the celebration with the entire Dark Order (Anna has rarely been involved when it's come to Hangman) were all just *chef's kiss*
It's time Hangman ascended the throne. Kenny would then be free to go up against Bryan again without issue.
Longterm story telling is how you get talent over. Even if Hangman doesn't win, he is officially a star now.

And that's why it works. Stone Cold resonated with Generation X who were anti-establishment, hated their bosses, etc. Hangman is that for millenials. A badass who is flawed, who makes mistakes. It's not a lack of talent that is holding him back, but his own insecurities. As a kid, I always thought I was going to be something great, but life hasn't turned out that way for me. But it's through determination and passion that you take control of your life, like Page is doing.

What aew has done with hangman page is incredible. I remember watching his debut match live in roh and to see him competing for the word title now is crazy
hangman is among few who genuinely fit in the hero role . he feels natural.
This has been one of the best storylines and feuds in all of wrestling. The longevity of the storyline and the build up to what seems to be Hangman finally getting the world title from the man he used to call his friend and tag partner. It’s beautiful.
When Hangman kicks out of the OWA, it is just outright story telling for me. Basically, Hangman believing in himself made him overcome the most devestating move which only one other person has done and win the title. That's character development!!
When he kicks out of the OWA, the pop may be the biggest pop in AEW history.

Please give them a good 45 minutes to an hour at Full Gear. This is the biggest and most important match in AEWs short history. Kenny and Hangman, everything has led to this.
I'm sure they could make 45-60 minutes work, but that still might be pushing it. They managed to fit a lot of storytelling into the Revolution 2020 tag match and that was less than 30 minutes.

The subtletly of how Hangman grew over time as a character and a performer is amazing. The fact that they took him drinking beers with ppl at ringside as a sign of escapism and depression and isolation was truly inspired. Having him come out here and not cut an 'I will WIN" promo, but an ACTUAL honest-to-god 'the crowd is behind me... so I'll try.' promo is amazing.
Like is this accidental? Or his story psychology just this good? You can't tell.
But either way I'm really invested and really wanna see what happens if (hopefully when) he beats Kenny and takes the title.

It could also work with Moxley vs Hangman, Mox will turn and say Page doesn’t have what it takes, he's not tough enough physically and mentally, you could have a decent first Hangman champ feud with that. I'm more keen on Danielson and Omega having another banger.
