Hanging out with others that are like you, gives you a better sense of being accepted for who you are, not just "what" you are. Someone like you, is more understanding of your struggles. As a St Louis native, I never knew this place existed. As far as I know, and my information may be very outdated, cremains are not allowed to be (legally) scattered anywhere in St Louis and have to be buried if not kept in an urn by a loved one.
I looked for more information about this place. It's a memorial specifically for transgender people who were killed by violence. Murdered for being trans.
I'm gay and don't see why anyone would need a separate graveyard, but this trans wave has flipped me off my surfboard. Nice to see nobody screaming victimhood bull crap, just happy plants growing. I think it depends upon each individual what they want. People always want to put others in a category, but you can be in more than one. My inlaw is very family oriented who just happens to be gay too. I imagine most of us, do not fit in just one category.

What's up Lamont welcome back to stl! So here's a little background on the memorial garden. First, it is said to be the first of its kind in the United States. It was the brainchild of LGBT activst Jordan Braxton who is also a drag queen who goes by Dieta Pepsi. As you said the Metro Trans Umbrella Group looks after it. The garden is basically a reminder of the struggles of the LGBT community especially those who were killed because of who they were. As I'm sure you're aware (but not your viewers), it is located at The Grove, which is a LGBT area. There are volunteers that occasionally help with the upkeep of the garden.

I'm in St. Louis. It's not the manholes up there he needs to worry about. I wouldn't walk around up there even during the day without a firearm. At the same time.....our city taxes not hard at work repairing the streets.
A 15 year old transgender teen was beaten to death in Dublin Ireland in August. She was attending Gay Pride and was singled out for being transgender. I've never known such hatred, lied and misinformation about gay and transgenderpeople. So I've no problem with a memorial garden. It doesn't affect my life. Its such a small thing.
Its not looking very much looked after, maybe the garden is just "identifying" as a cared for garden. A garden thats not cared for but identifys as cared for.

They like to be buried with their own in death and be with them in life because this is where they find the greatest acceptance and love. Really not hard to figure out. AND. we all do it whether we are aware or not.
I get the religious reasons because of specific rituals and beliefs. But I am very happy that few cemeteries are segregated by color barriers they say they were not long ago. But as for people who are LGBTQ+, I am myself would not want to be segregated or treated like I am not worthy of a "normal" cemetery. Because I am normal, and I do not buy into separatism but acceptance.
It is sad that Gender Dysphoria is going, for the most part, untreated these days. A person can not change their born gender. We are what God created and it can not change. People who have gender Dysphoria need help and Prayers.

Regarding certain religions being buried together, to the best that I know the area is consecrated to that religion, so a particular faith issue.
