Unbelievable...............what an absolute dude, no laptop, no fancy sampler, just the same shit he's been using for over 20 years and still rocks it better than most :)
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Zeke Lee thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I was almost shocked by seeing this, but on reflection it makes total sense, Dev is a master craftsman, relies less on his tools than his inherent abilities, so the tools that worked 'back then,' work now. Paradox is the boss.
massssssive bigups to dev paradox!!! man is miles ahead of any other producer out there when it comes to chopping breaks. So much respect for how he keeps things original!!
Yo, this is wicked cool. Not only does he produce a niche sub-genre in a niche genre, he does so with old school equipment. Very much the definition of, if it aint broke dont fix it. Choice.
dude pulls out a fucking commodore lmao .. OMG XD .. that is just awesome, live setup's are a rare ordeal for the most part in dnb .. but this is something else, those live sets gotta be a wicked .. love this mans music though, him and Seba's tracks are amazing ..
master of its craft man, those apple users can... u know im sayin. respect for his work ethic, the art he created on "limitagion" exceeds the stuff they throw together now by lighyears. paradox one of the all time greats man. do some nu stuff mate ;)
Its the same in the Photography, you give a professional a 20 year old camera and set of lenses, and he's still going to produce quality shots. You give an amateur a top of the line £10,000 camera body and lenses to match and he's still going to produce shit. Crystal clear shit, but shit none the less.
This is proper dj skills, unlike everyone that uses CDJ's and laptops to mix, 9 times out of 10 the beats are digitally synced thus giving the illusion that they are actually queuing up, pitching up or down to beat match, and then mixing out the track. Makes it WAY too easy, it's a lazy way to mix. That's why i ONLY use vinyl, Technics 1210's and/or Vestax PDX-2000's, Older Rane TTM-56 2 channel mixer, and so on. THAT, is proper mixing as well, analogue is the ONLY way to go, digital has made a mockery of mixing and making tunes. It's just my opinion so if you disagree, it's cool, I'm just saying what i do in this regard.
This is actually called 'Live PA', it has nothing to do with djing really in a sense with what he is doing, he is essentially playing one song at a time live out of his sequencer (the Amiga A1200 Computer hooked up midi to the Akai Sampler he's using) as though he were a one man band, not everyone who plays electronic music, a lot of people perform their own music live.
But the sounds I bet are quality. Those samplers are awesome. I'm guessing he mostly uses the c64 to sequence the Akai. I could be wrong but I don't think the c64 plays samples. But it can be a synth.
It will be one of any number of trackers. I used Fasttracker and Impulse tracker back in the 90s when I started making music, you should check them out =D
that computer has released in 1992 what the heck he talkin about "1989" and he's got that amiga1200 since 1991. .. with all respekt he needs to refresh his memory:D joke aside, really a big respekt to paradox but respekt the history as well!
watched the whole thing now. he HAD to use floppies as the computer cant store files?? whut? buy a damn hardisk for it (theres a nice place inside for a 2,5" ide hdd ) sure the flopps looks cool when he exchange them, and even better in his mouth:) he talks about pulldown menus as being a hot new feature opposed to keys, while amiga used those menus since day1.. the computer that worths 1 pound.. yeah... hes trying to show this gear and his technik much more oldskul then it really is..funny
WTF you talking about? Did you come just to troll?? - The first Commodore (which he originally used) was released into commercial production in 1987. - Unless you changed the FFS setting, stock out of the box 1200s have a limitation of 1GB (if I remember correctly) over IDE. In some of the last patches of the OS, you could use a 4GB drive but that was a pain to get going, and on my machine I always had constant crashes when playing games or general use, definitely not something you want happening during a live performance. Besides, using floppy is a nice touch to a throwback era, and a signature for Dev I guess. - Sure the Amiga had pull down menus, but now you're splitting hairs
@@organikness Dev does not use floppies at all anymore and hasn't for some time, after Akai made him a custom black faceplate for his S3000XL sampler with his name on it, he modded it to with a 3.5 compact flash / usb drive, I know this because I talked to him about when he played here locally a couple years ago and used my Yamaha CS2x to do his live pa on (Dev does not bring a synth with him, it is in his rider for the promoter to supply one for him to play pad synths on during his set), which he signed for me, along with my Akai S2000 sampler, and gave me a bunch of Metalheadz and Esoteric stickers. Also, you can easily mod the Amiga systems now with the IDE Compact Flash 4gb HD mod, I have an A500 here running one along with Kickstart 1.3 firmware and it works just fine that I use to control my rack samplers with, with Med 4.
Actually, you'll find that the MIDI timing is rock solid on his 'old' kit and even modern computers still can't replicate an accurate clock, their timing is rubbish. This is one of the main reasons why he sticks to his setup I think. There is a niche for this, for producers like himself - SND Acme, Innerclock, Copperlan, to name a few, expensive products for accurate timing on a computer in our current era, but hey, why spend thousands when you can utilise an Amiga that also produces a very accurate MIDI clock. Yes it looks old and cool and 'retro' but don't underestimate that there is a purpose to his kit - he is a perfectionist.

@Zeke Lee it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account :D
@Gannon Kevin no problem :D
One of the greatest producer ever!
I was almost shocked by seeing this, but on reflection it makes total sense, Dev is a master craftsman, relies less on his tools than his inherent abilities, so the tools that worked 'back then,' work now. Paradox is the boss.
top in the game -- an absolute legend. listened to him nonstop in my college years and still do to this day.
Every British person starts their conversation off with "RIGHT".

What an inspiration to all amiga OctaMED users all over.
King of beats.
Absolute mad lad! using all that old school tech to come up with pure gems!
A computer worth one euro! Imagine that. These things are right expensive again now.
massssssive bigups to dev paradox!!! man is miles ahead of any other producer out there when it comes to chopping breaks. So much respect for how he keeps things original!!

This man is a beast live.
Absolute legend.
Gold! Thank you for taking the time to explain the setup!!
Just sold my octatrack to go on vacation. I was wondering what kind of high end stuff this producer would use. I just saw this, makes my day :))))
love what he does. and love the sound of the amiga.
but he should consider a new live show.
Not only will Dev cope, but he’ll power on - blitzing the fuck out of it.
Shocked I've never seen this. Such an awesome vid. Does anyone know where he is in the video?
Coming back to this vid on a regular base - pure commedy ;) Love it!
dude pulls out a fucking commodore lmao .. OMG XD .. that is just awesome, live setup's are a rare ordeal for the most part in dnb .. but this is something else, those live sets gotta be a wicked .. love this mans music though, him and Seba's tracks are amazing ..

Taking tea on holiday. Standard procedure! 👍

Cool :)
So legit!

I saw an Akai sampler there in this video...
Does he still do this?? Probably the most impractical live set-up I've ever seen!

a computer that is worth ONE Euro - well prices have come up a bit :) €250 for a decent A1200 I guess nowadays...@3:25
what you're saying in a long-winded way is it's all down to talent vs having the latest technology but not one clue on how to tap into it.
back when a working amiga was worth 1 euro
this

nkogliaz Dev is one of the very few that perform this way, it's a lost art for sure.
How observant of you. It's probably getting on for 20 years old which by todays standards, is not fancy.
Папа в дэле =]

Someone should have given him a cheap IDE CF card reader so he didn't have to worry about the floppy disks.
He switches discs so it looks like hes a busy bee :)
Does anyone know the name of the first track?
Seba & Paradox - It's All Love
anyone id on 4:08?? so good man
Anyone know the track id 2:30? Killer beats and bass..
Seba & Paradox - It's All Love

It will be one of any number of trackers. I used Fasttracker and Impulse tracker back in the 90s when I started making music, you should check them out =D

Just cuss its old don't make it cool.
Wrong

Nimesh Patel - exactly, that’s why people still use Amigas and Atari STs for midi gear.
I bet you're about as cool as herpes Ant. Miserable fucker.
