Love your bath bombs they look so cool. This weekend I will be busy helping my granddaughter (13) at her market she is doing, it's been 2 months now from the last one due to covid. She makes Soap's and Candles. And she loves your videos. We always look forward to your videos here in NZ.
Hi! I have a few questions. If you use SLSA instead of SCI is it in the same amount. For the water and dye is it 60 g water and 0.9 dye for this recipe or 30 grams and 0.9 dye? I noticed you made the recipe again. I heard you had to use polysorbate 80 to help prevent from dying your tub, I see you do not use it in your recipe. I enjoy your videos you keep it real, and I love that.😘
Hi Lisa, Thank you for your comment. If using SLSA I would definitely lower the amount (quite substantially) as we use a lot less SLSA when using it. The exact amount would be personal preference so would require some experimenting but potentially I would start as low as around 40g. Yes, the recipe could have been clearer, apologies for that. The ingredients given in the description needs to be halved for each batch (with the exception of the water soluble dyes), so it would be 30g water and 0.9g dye. Water soluble dyes don't tend to dye tubs too badly, but polysorbate 80 also helps the oils not to separate and float on top of the water or cause a slipping hazard. The high amount of SCI also acts as an emulsifier so stops the oils separating and would also help to avoid staining if using different kinds of colourants. Therefore if you do replace the high amount of SCI with a lower amount of SLSA I would recommend adding a little polysorbate 80 too.
Hi please can you help . I don’t want to use palm oil in my bombs. And I can’t seem to find sci powders. Do you know where I can find./ or what I can use. Instead.?
Thank you for sharing, I would have loved a demonstration at the end of the video.
