when the tore down the buildings on the old Falls Street and that area in the earley to mid 70's that when the tourism went away , They had no plan to replace downtown and then the city was doomed and it still is .

Niagara Falls, Canada, has a lot of shops and bright lights but no Mall, so build one on the American side. The Canadian side has a lot of cheap motels but on the American side, cute little cottages instead of motels all around " America Park ". They would fit in and enhance the natural beauty of the area.

A perfect example of American decline. Meanwhile, we are giving the booming South a $90 billion bailout for building where hurricanes come ashore.

1 - The American side simply doesn't have the high quality view of the falls as the Canadian side. It's like going to Mount Rushmore only to look at the back side of the monument.
2 - Canadians can't be bothered with the hassle of getting a passport, unlike pre 9-11 when crossing the border was hassle free.
3 - Americans can take advantage of their higher dollar on the Canadian side.
These three factors, which will never change, are why no redevelopment plan for Niagara Falls NY will ever succeed.

Yeah, blame it all on the Seneca Casino...Bullshit! All this urban blight started in the late 60's and 70's. NF NY sucks. December 2020

Canada advanced because the USD used to buy a lot more there and NY strip clubs absolutely suck compared to those in Canada. It's really as simple as that folks.
