Am I the only one who thinks this game looks *incredible* for being thirty years old? The character animations are gorgeous and so fluid and detailed
well there are better ones from that time but it's not bad I guess, but also far from remarkable
The art style is brilliant yeah, but theres a lotta arcade games from that time that still look amazing. Ninja Baseball Batman is still one of the best looking games ever imo.

5:11 Love how Dan jokingly says "what did you, why?" and actually is right about the "why" part. The Japanese after the comma in that sentence reads "doushite" or "why" in English lol
He did the same thing around the 3 minute mark when he said “curses!” as an exclamation and the character said しまった！ (shimatta) which is kinda like dang it or shoot so curses actually kinda works!
The dialogue is mostly pretty easy to guess. It's incredibly bland and generic, a real contrast to the... everything else.

Lets hope Amazons LOTR series is in the same class as the films. I understand the films left out a lot of from the books , mostly due to time constraints, but the movies really were epic. I hope Amazon produces a real LOTR masterpiece tv series and avoids trying to shoehorn in characters, themes, or storylines that serve some sort of political or cultural agenda. Seeing the Tolkien world in a full force functioning atmosphere ala "GOT" style, would be great!
@@mariusloveless7880 According to Wikipedia they've committed for 5 seasons, and it takes place BEFORE the movies, but ISN'T an adaptation of The Silmarillion. My expectations are set around "Battle of the 5 Armies" level, and I feel like that might still be too optimistic. Isildur vs Sauron will pretty much JUST be stuff they're making up, because Tolkien didn't write that.
I'm definitely one of those guys that would be in the theater opening day for each of the History of Middle Earth movies if they were ever made

Man, this is one of the worst cases of screen tearing I've seen in a while. But graphics look great for 1991.
you'll notice this on every emulator episode they do. Arin doesn't turn on vsync in the graphics settings. would completely solve this. good luck relaying that info to him though. we just gotta put up with this amateur shit forever

I love studio Ghibli. My favorite movie of all time since I owned it on VHS as a kid was "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind."
Apparently the US version cut out all the violence and stuff, which made Miyazaki and pals very upset, so they sent Miramax a sword that had the words "no cuts" on it as like their way of saying "I dare you to cut the blood and nasty stuff out of Princess Mononoke".
Come to think of it, Miyazaki looks like a Japanese Colonel Sanders.

I still haven't watched the Japanese version yet so I should sit down and definitely watch it if it kept the original aesthetic. For anyone wondering this game has an English translated version that can be downloaded if you own the saturn ps1 or ps2 versions. Or you can import a copy of the translated version. Not cheaply but i just thought id mention it. That being said this game is a fun beatem up if youve got a few hrs to spare.
