One trick from fine art sketching that I brought with me to photography and photoshop manipulation to understand direction of light is to start with one direction and work through the entire image. So if the light is coming from the top right, I'll start by adding shadows the the left side of everything, vertically, and then move to adding shadows beneath everything horizontally. Personally, I find this helps prevent missing areas, as you move through the entire image focusing only on one specific plane at a time.
Video was really hepful. Just keep in mind that is a LOT easier and time saving to clip solid color layer to the subject layer if the color is leaking. That way you can just paint over the subject and the background but the color will still remain only on the subject because it's clipped to him.
I think that this is best video for a beginner like me. I did not have a clue as to how to create nice shadows and highlights, but now i have an idea. Keep up the good work brother and bring more videos like this.
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Ricardo Kylo Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
How does this only have 120 views?!?!?!?!? I’m very grateful for people like yourself giving the time to pass on your knowledge. It was a great tutorial, please keep it up. Your going to be big one day!
If you need thoughts on what to do next. I would really appreciate a video on how to match levels for composites and making them look like they belong together. That is something I really struggle with but your Halloween & the day to night videos made me look like a pro (if you would go that far haha).
Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation! Means a lot! 😄 I really hope the video helped you in some way! Thanks again for your support! 👍
That's really nice of you to give me ideas for my next video. I will definitely see what I can do. Please keep suggesting! By the way, if I read it correctly, did my Halloween and day to night videos help you in some way? That would be really cool! Glad to know that!
@@Encreate yes! They helped massively. I tried to follow speed arts by slowing them down. But I could not grasp it. Your videos teaching us how to turn the bright daylight photos to the dark night vibe was fantastic. Glad I could speak to you before you become big. I’m sure you won’t have the time to reply to thousands of comments in a years time. 😂
Thank you so much! Feels great to know my videos helped you 👍 Well, I never know if I will ever be big, and yes it will be too big of a promise if I say I can reply to all the comments, but I will definitely try my best to help out and reply 😄 It's nice to meet you 💪

Hey my friend… i never write youtube comments.. but i have to comment on this one… you helped me so much! Perfectly explained! Again.. thank you homie!
@Encreate Great Tutorial!!! Little tip from Photography, add 1px Gaussian Blur and 1px Noise to everything that has been painted, it will make a huge difference in Realismn. :) Love your Videos
Very good Encreate ...... you are doing great and i can forsee ur channel as top tutorial channel in 1year... and this video will have 2million views for sure...
I don’t know the reason why you don’t have many subscribers, but I do know the reason why you have a like from me(and a sub), and from anyone who just watches your video, because you act like a teacher, after giving us the “tutorial” you also give us a homework with that projects we can use.
@@Encreate i have one question sir how we can easly find the perspectivly light for creating the realistic highlights sometimes we create we dont where we put the highlights or not plz gimme some tips but by the way really learn fro this video Thnku so much
Hi there! I have a few complete manipulation tutorials. You can check them here - czcams.com/video/Jn6fB35Bp8A/video.html and czcams.com/video/eCsV_8KR3DM/video.html But unfortunately they are one of my least popular videos 😅 As for highlights on a rough stone, the same technique in this video should work. You just need to play a bit more with the Blend-If section to see what settings best reveal the underlying details. Hope this help 👍
Great vid, btw how u get your images soo clear, mine are so pixelated and also whenever I try highlighting, it highlights the whole thing not like a line, what am I doing wrong?
Hi! I have one quick question. I have seen other youtubers/videos (like benny productions) use hue/sat layers for highlights instead of solids. Is there a scenario where you should be using one or the other?
Yes, correct! Since there are multiple ways in Photoshop which will give you the same the result, you can use any one of the methods in which you feel comfortable. I also use the hue/sat layers when the highlight is not that strong. Because increasing the lightness in hue/sat can wash out the colors. So for strong colored highlights I use solids. But I switch between them often. Hope I could answer you correctly.
One of the most detailed tutorial. You are so underrated.Keep it up , you will get what you deserves.
Thank you so much for your kind words bro! Means a lot! 🙏👍
i think this is a good tutorial that explains how to make highlights similar to those of benny productions
Thank you so much! 🙏 Glad you like it 😊
Benny use hue saturation for highlights but he used solid color for highlights
Exactly 😂😂❤️

Yes, I totally agree with you. If we start moving around the whole image then we are bound to miss out on some areas. Thanks for the helpful tip!
