The talent portion isn't judged on who's capable of doing more, it's what you can do and how you present it. For those saying this talent shouldn't have won her Miss America, while talent is a huge portion of how they're judged, it's not everything.
Are you all kidding me. This gal can dance. That was a contemporary theatrical jazz routine. Her extensions and fluidity were spot on. Not only that, she captivated the audience with her personality and warmth. If you are using Dance Moms to base your dance education then you must really live in a bubble because this young lady is amazing. Take some lessons folks before you start saying she can't dance. She killed it and deserved to win.
I agree with you and this is coming from a person who has done jazz, tap, and ballet, and grew up watching other types of dance styles such as hip hop, lyrical, and contempary.
I just looked through the comment and saw that everyone is saying stuff like "she has no talent"... uh, she is an AMAZING dancer. Do all of y'all need to get your eyes checked lol. I guess that that are just salty their state didn't win😊 Dance on savvy
I see a lot of people saying that she shouldn't have won because she wasn't the "best" dancer onstage. One doesn't simply have to be the best in their talent to win Miss America. Take Kira Kazantsev, Miss America 2015, for instance. Her singing voice wasn't the best out of her 51 fellow contestants, yet she won anyway because of her stage presence. Talent is about marrying your skills with your personality, and Savvy could not have done a better job showing both the judges and the audience who she is. Her stage presence was impeccable and she had good dance moves to boot. That's why she won. Plus, she probably won the judges over in interview (something the viewers don't get to see) which may have caused the judges to score her higher in other catergories to ensure she earned a place in the finals.
Lisa, what are you complaining about, 'finally'? You won in 1964 (Donna Axum) and in 1982 (Elizabeth Ward). Only a 34 years wait. :) The talent competition is 30% of the pageant, and she was one of the top winners, so that was a tip that she could be the pageant winner--and she was!
she's a down to earth young woman living her dream, and that part of that dream now means representing america wherever she goes, supporting her platform of "eat better, live better," and supporting children's miracle hospital. "best job in the world," she says. i believe her and am happy for her.
I'm a professional dancer, having appeared in 6 Broadway shows. Miss Arkansas, now Miss America was really quite good. Her extensions, pivots, and overall personality/delivery were all excellent. Plus I think she's very pretty to boot.
I watched the contestants as they were arriving in Atlantic City and introducing themselves on another video. And for some reason I immediately was drawn to Miss Arkansas. That was two days ago.
She is an all-around winner Each judge judges 4 categories There are X number of judges All of those scores are tabulated EVEN the judges do not know the winner until it’s announced She obviously got many positive votes, although she doesn’t have to be first in all of them to win. In the end, she had the highest score. The 1st runner up may have been a tenth of a point behind. It’s just how it works.
She does not have the most impressive of dance skills, as her leaps are not the highest and her fuete technique is satisfactory, but before I get attacked, what she lacks there she makes up for in the fluidity of her movement and her energy and presence, and that is also a large part of dancing
People from every other state but Arkansas: oh wow this is really good Judges: and miss Arkansas wins People from every other state but Arkansas: 😭😭 why was it her she is sooo bad wah wah
She won the talent portion with that? Yes, she is good, but I have to be honest - anyone could do that, really. Kind of like the girl a few years ago who sang with the red cup! But again, I have to remember, there is an offstage interview (for several minutes) with each girl that we (as the audience) do not see. She must have really impressed the judges in that interview! So congratulations to her! And to all the young ladies who were on the stage representing their State! Congratulations to them all!
She may not have been the best dancer, but comparing her to the awful, off-beat red cup girl is like comparing someone who said one racist thing to Hitler... Do you know anyone that can dance that well?
This was probably referring to a preliminary night, meaning that of the contestants who performed their talent on one particular night out of the three, she had the highest score. In theory she could have had the best talent score of the 50, or she could have been tenth or twentieth in preliminary talent scores; we'll never know. Either way, she was amazing and definitely earned her crown :) I got to meet her during her reign, she is so well spoken and graceful.
Hmmm,Looking through these comments has left me wondering what a competition is about. A competition is about winning. You typically win by being the best. This wasn't the Miss Congeniality portion; this was the talent portion of the pageant. Yes, she SHOULD have been the BEST (albeit, in a judged sector, which is, yes, subjective). Nice doesn't win the trophy; being the best wins the trophy. Compare her performance to what you see on a wide-genre show like So You Think You Can Dance, and her performance simply doesn't compare. (One caveat to her is the floor; it is not very forgiving. If I were her, I would've worn lyrical turners to solve that problem.)
She's an excellent choice for Miss USA. Very pretty and talented. But the only thing worse than that song is the singer. She should have picked a better song and singer or maybe an instrumental.

She deserved to win and I am proud to say I am an Arkansan. She outclassed all of the other girls. She won proving that to be true

No doubt. Real timing, choreographic interpretation and physicality with feminine presence and power.

Spot on. Savvy just sells it with her performance and just pulls you in
Finally my state has a Miss America, I am from Arkansas.
my grandma called me and she was excited af lol. I'm glad too

Beautiful girl full of joy and light. Congratulations Savvy.

She's adorable! She was confident and happy. Her answer to Gabby Douglas' question was good.
Oh, really. I'd like for you to dance live on tv with millions of people watching, to try performing better than her. Can't huh. Not surprised.

She's Gorgeous! And my personal body type if she's listening. Lol
She’s an outstanding performer, I love watching her dance🤍
Go Mrs. Arkansas! You can do this! Look at her Jumps!❤️

Savvy
Beautiful. They can also climb the Miss Rhode Island?
If I were a judge, I would Vote her...I mean Vote 4 her...=))
WPS GO RAZORBACKS!!!!! Go Saavy!
I thought miss America was yesterday
i knew she was going to win when i saw her hand sign at the beginning of her dance...
She is talented, yes. Put a pair of character shoes on her and let’s see what she can really do !
I wanted to amend my prior statement. This feels a bit over-choreographed. She clearly is talented
what song is she dancing to?
"They Just Keep Moving The Line", Megan Hilty from the tv series 'Smash'
+Ann Onymous thank you so much!!! I was rooting for her the whole time! I am so glad she won!

Southern Girls ! Mmm

katwil89 short for Savvanah
RonniPikaBlue Gotcha! Thank you.

Lol, the jealous comments women make. You make us all look stupid.
@@candyjohnson3302 you should not be jealous of what others have.
2nd like
That was really the best talent performance out of 50 contestants? Strange.
She wasn't that good
I’d like to see you do better.

Catering to the foot fetish....

josoverthehill did you manage to finish junior high or did you skip out a lot? Your writing skills are substandard.

someone blew the judge... lol
It wasn't her. She's a lesbian.
Fat old men sitting around judging a beautiful, talented lady. Sad idiots
@@mechcavandy986 what an idiotic comment. She’s such a lesbian that she married a man
did anybody else see the peice of jewelry fall off
Beauty Busters it was a part of her outfit
That's the talent that won Miss America this year? Wow.... sadly, this was a very weak routine. I remember the amazing talents in years past.
I'm sorry but after watching dance moms this is nothing. Plus she keeps repeating the same moves.
You shouldn't talk about your mother that way.
Sort of reminds me of a Dallas Cowboy's Cheerleaders routine.
Maya Holt it's ok her competitors were even more trash
I hate to say it but her turns and jumps were just so off
Brilliant dancer. But her runner up was way prettier ...
Brought to you by Walmart and the Clinton Foundation.
Must be an uneducated trumpturd. Suck it up buttercup. Lmao
This won talent ? Apparently there was no talent there. Yikes.
this looked sloppy
Anya So does your personality
