It’s very convinient that in Helsinki nearly everything also is written in Swedish. As a Dutchie with knowledge of German i can in most cases get the essential out of Swedish text.
The second point is kinda dumb. Only 5% of the population speaks it natively. And half of those 5% speak finnish in some way. Swedish is just seen as "the annoying thing you have to learn" for most finns.
I've spent so much time of my life on Åland Islands when i was a child. Since then i've visited all kinds of different places around the world, but there is nothing as magical as Åland. I will learn swedish, come back and never leave again.

The majority of Åland has always spoken Swedish, around 95% nowadays and their dialect of Swedish is closer to Uppland Swedish than Finland Swedish. When Finland became free from Russia, there were large movements to reunite with Sweden in Åland, so large that the League of Nations had to get involved. Despite over 90% of the population voting to reunite with Sweden, the League of Nations instead chose to give Åland autonomy. Ålandic autonomy is one of the main reasons that they would rather be a part of Finland than Sweden. If they were to reunite with Sweden, they would loose their autonomy and become a Swedish landskap instead. In short, they voted for reunification, got denied and were given autonomy instead.
