While procuct piracy is not something i support, a lot of "foakleys" come out of the same machines "the real ones" come out of. They just sell a few boxes out the back door when oakley isnt looking. Same with a lot of procuct that are manufactured in asia and then marked up by 5000%, because a brand name is on it.

Big help for me while driving. The Oakleys are now my golf and driving glassed. Will use the polarized in my other car and while fishing. Hey Paul! If there's an etching on the lenses it usually signifies authentic Oakleys. However the stress fractures could be the result of improper care. Probably due to being out in the sun or on the dash of a hot car for hours. Good find!

Another way to tell if your Oakley's are fake is to literally smell them. Yes you can smell a fake pair of Oakley's. Some fake ones have a really strong plastic chemical smell similar to paint thinner to them. A real big dead giveaway if you smell it. And another detail is that all authentic Oakley's have the model name of the frame on the inside left temple arm of the glasses (EG: Holbrook, EVZero, Radar EV, Sutro, Etc.). If it is not there on the inside left temple arm, they are most likely fake.

Sounds like a good review... Next time, when you are showing off a "black" pair of sun glasses, wear a white T-shirt. Black T-shirts and black sunglasses don't show up. And please get your camera closer with better light to the item when you are showing details. 5 feet away with a small item (sunglasses) is too far to see detail. Your background needs to be a white or possibly neon green to show any detail on dark items. Better lighting and more close ups. PEACE

It’s pretty common that they will be in just a pouch if you didn’t get authentic Oakley prescription lenses. It’s because when the practice buys the frames from Oakley in non-prescription, that’s how they send them. Then the practice send the glasses to their lab and provides to you only what they received from Oakley

I work at Oakley and The first round of turbines were released with square O-icons where as for later releases were oval o-icons as you see. That is a great question and a big reason that we wanted to make this video! You simply can't be sure when you're buying them. There are ways you can get them tested if your local optician has a spectrometer, but you're rolling the dice there. Consider that fact that if they're trying to trick you into thinking they're authentic Oakley's, why would they care to spend more money to make sure they are also protecting your eyes from UV exposure?
