    I do this every year for Coachella. My cousin and I drive down to Coachella from LA with no tickets. We ALWAYS end up with VIP tickets for the same price as GA. Sometimes a little Higher than that but nonetheless way cheaper.

    Hey awesome video! I am thinking about trying to do this for the Coldplay concert in Atlanta this weekend. What do you think about this in a post (for the most part) COVID world? Is this still tangible?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety +1

      Simple answer is yes this is still a possibility in the post COVID world, your biggest issue is always going to be available inventory as you near the event start time. If events are instant download, then tickets will stay up longer and give you a better shot at getting a great deal. For mobile transfer events, it’s a lot harder since many listings will come down about 1-2 hours before the event takes place. It helps if you’re local of course just in case a great deal drops last minute, but just make sure you have a budget price in mind and pull the trigger when it shows up. Otherwise it’s easy to get lulled into waiting too long and missing your shot! Let me know how it goes!!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety +1

      Generally I like to list tickets immediately, however, the big question is how much to price them at. Listing tickets right away doesn’t mean you need to price them to sell, you can always keep a high price and adjust downward. I’d get the posted now, price the weekday and non marquee matchups at a competitive price, and then slowly decide on the big matchups. I personally like to get rid of inventory by about a week before if I can unless I feel the event is extremely popular and will continue to rise as you approach the date

      I would really love to know the answer to this too!

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety +1

      So in general this can work for most standard events. With that being said, it could also work for BTS but it really depends on supply as demand. If you get to the event date and there’s still massive demand, tickets will keep getting snapped up once they get to a certain price point that buyers are waiting on it reaching. As a result, inventory could dry up very fast as you approach the event date.
      It’s also possible that because so many tickets were purchased by resellers that they will try to just get rid of any remaining inventory they have around the event date that it could bring down the pricing for the event. Again though, there isn’t a good way to predict when buying last minute will or won’t work.
      As you get to the event date or close to it, check Ticketmaster for last minute ticket releases, and keep monitoring ticket prices and inventory levels on secondary markets too.
      Should also look on BTS fan groups on Facebook or discord to see if you can get tickets that way too.
      Good luck!

I am trying to go see harry styles and the tickets are sold out on ticketmaster and I wanted to go to the box office the day of to see if I can get some tickets but should I do that or just wait and buy on a website? What do you recommend? Do box office still sell tickets even though it says sold out online?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety +4

      The box office will sell tickets but generally only on the day of the show. For the most part the box office will have the same inventory as what is available online, however, in the last 2-3 days before an event takes place, a lot of tickets end up being released back from holds related to artist/promoter holds, as well as any sponsorship tickets that aren’t claimed. If you head to the box office on the day of the show you would have better luck trying to find some potential last minute tickets for face value if you don’t see anything online

      I would say start looking on Ticketmaster about 2-3 days before the show, as many of his dates are releasing a lot of production holds at decent prices both on the floor as well as lower bowl seating. So I would start there for sure. Otherwise, prices probably won’t change too much is my thinking for the tour overall, May see prices drop a little bit it depends entirely on how much inventory is left. It doesn’t look like there is a ton left as it is right now, so I think it’s better to try and lock up seats before the day of show

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před rokem +2

      In general ticket releases from the venue will occur a couple days before. Some will do same day of show but the majority will be a few days before just because they can finalize their production setup and put out any final ticket holds to the public to get them sold. There’s always going to be resellers at the stadium as well, their prices should be pretty similar to online but May have some variation +/- depending on their inventory. It’s definitely an experience buying in person, but would still continue to compare prices online incase you do find any good last minute drops

    For concerts they sometimes have that initial buying period. Does waiting until the last minute always save you money in comparison to buying them as soon as released?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety +5

      It depends on the popularity of the artist and event. Waiting for the last minute will sometimes allow you to buy tickets from the box office at face value if they release some then, or the secondary market could see prices dip close to event time. However, situations like with BTS you won’t see any savings close to the concert date. On average you’ll normally see prices come down but it isn’t guaranteed

I did and got one in the open end zone for around $30.. Picked it up at Will Call Saw the return of the NFL in Baltimore. • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety

      It depends on the specific artist, event date, venue location, and ticket supply. You can try to wait closer to the event date and see if the box office releases any last minute seats, or you can even try to contact the box office directly to see if they know if/when additional seats may come available. They could potentially be aware of some VIP holdbacks (but not guaranteed). Otherwise, as long as there is a large enough supply of tickets still available as you approach the event date on the floor, it’s possible to see prices come down over time. It’s hard to say on every single event how it will play out, but it is generally typical for prices to come down as you approach the event date. What event is it you’re looking to get tickets to? I can do a little search for you and see if I can find anything that meets your budget and location!

      I think you should be patient right now, and let’s see how prices move as we approach the show dates. There may be a reconfiguration of the stage to allow more seats to be released in the rear corners so just keep checking on TM to see! It’s very hard to say as of right now whether prices will come down the week of the event or not as there just isn’t a lot of inventory available currently

    I'm trying to buy tickets to a Rauw Alejandro concert that's in two days. Should I want until day of?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před rokem

      At this point I’d wait at least a day, check if prices are moving up or down between today and tomorrow. If they are moving down, then I would wait some more, if they are moving the other way though then would probably purchase the seats at that point

    So I’m buying 3 tickets for a Charlotte Hornets vs Boston Celtics game and I don’t know when to buy them. The game is March 9th so, buying the week before would be good?

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety +1

      If you can, you could even wait until 48-72 hours before the event. You see price changes the most dramatic during the last couple of days before the event itself, but there’s also a level of comfort knowing your tickets are confirmed. Definitely wait until at least 7 days before, but then have a price target in mind at the price you’re happy with, I would just pull the trigger at that point. Stress isn’t fun for anyone! 🤞🏽 good luck!

      😂 I want to go to todays game, Hornets vs Nets (March 8th). It’s my first ever NBA game so I might wait last few hours. Did you end up buying yours? Any deals? Edit: my budget is $150. I’m going alone.

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety

      Good luck!! I think you should be fine with that budget. There’s already some options on the baselines and corners in your budget range. Harder to say about sidelines as it just depends on inventory. Don’t see a lot of singles left in centre court right now so wouldn’t expect that to change too much as we near the game start

    • @thumbsuprun
      @thumbsuprun  Před 2 lety

      Generally not as much. I’d say the series matters way more. If a home team is down, then prices will normally fall. If they are up though/close out game, expect prices to increase as you approach game day. In general you may see prices fall over time, but the majority of movement is priced in based on the series

      Gametime is very legitimate - I’ve both bought and sold with them for several years now. They work a little different than other sites in that they only display a curated set of tickets instead of everything and anything. However, delivery and authenticity still follows the same way as Stubhub and other large resale sites. Would recommend using them 😁
