- The Supreme Court's ruling Monday in former President Donald Trump's 2020 election interference case makes it all but certain that the Republican will not face trial in Washington ahead of the November election.
The Supreme Court did not dismiss - as Trump had wanted - the indictment alleging he illegally schemed to cling to power after he lost to President Joe Biden. But the ruling still amounts to a major victory for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, whose legal strategy has focused on delaying the proceedings until after the election.

Jack Smith knew the law before he wrote the first indictments. The Supreme Court ruling was just to tell Jack Smith what the law was and that he had no right corrupting it or spinning his agenda.
You're trying to tell us rubes this is business as usual for the Court, are you? This revolutionary Supreme Court ruling, a ruling so egregious it has shocked the world, wasn't intended "just to tell Jack Smith what the law was," it was intended to cripple attempts to hold Trump accountable for his crimes, and you know it. Just like you also know that Jack Smith is an honorable public servant who is NOT corrupt and hasn't tried to "spin" anything. The case against the criminal defendant Trump is based on rock solid evidence, not "spin." In fact the case against Trump is so good, it appears that Trump's MAGA Justices on the Supreme Court just did away with a basic tenet of American jurisprudence to protect the former president from prosecution.
