- Kodak, one of the largest photographic film manufacturers in the world, also poured a lot of investment, research and development into establishing the brand as a leader in digital imaging. The 6.1MP EasyShare Z650 is more than a point and shoot, and flirts with seeming like a higher grade DSLR camera, debuting in 2006. The photos produced by the Z650 are full of color and contrast, thanks in no small part to an impressive Schneider Kreuznach lens. I'll share a few comments on my experience using the Kodak EasyShare Z650 and the photos taken with it toward the end of the video.
This information is intended for casual photographers interested in vintage point and shoot digital cameras. Thanks for watching.

Hi there Dan! I absolutely agree with you, I bought this camera today at a flea market for only 2.50 dollars. I'm still cleaning it but took some pictures and they look very natural to me. Greetings from Mexico!
You got a great deal! The lens is the most interesting part of the camera, in my opinion. Hope you have a great summer with your 'new' Z650! Glad to hear from a fellow photographer in Mexico - Greetings back from Montreal, Canada!
I have the same camera that I found when I visited my grandparents, I have the problem that I put the batteries correctly, I turn it on and it lasts about 5 seconds and it turns off, but if I go to favorites it turns me on well, also that it detects as if it had low battery despite being with new batteries
OMG, i'm new to cameras and this video is exactly what I needed
I'm very glad this helped you! Have you chosen a camera yet?
Thanks for the video! Properly showing the cam followed by samples and comparisons - thats how we like it :D
Fantastic, glad this video helped show the difference this camera had over others from the era. I think this camera has an edge. And I love a good comparison myself :)
This was my family camera back in the day, and when I went to college, I wanted to bring an old digital camera with me, and I remembered I had this. The pics all looked amazing, and gave off the exact vibe I wanted. I found the original box in my basement the other day, and it said something about a printer made for it, and I want to buy one, but I'm not sure if all of the Kodak printers at the time are the same. Would you have any idea about that?
I really like Kodak EasyShare p/s cameras circa 2003 to 2006. They are fairly well made, and deliver some of the most eye-pleasing colour results in sunny outdoor conditions in fully automatic that I have found in comparable p/s cameras. For the original price (and low prices now), there is little complain about in terms of the optics and image quality. Compared to some other cameras, the preset scene modes have an informative guide, are well designed for their purpose and can actually help the novice user to obtain better results.
I really like the lens on it, too. It felt like the colors and contrast were different from the other cameras because of it. Thanks for telling your thoughts on the Kodaks, appreciate you taking the time to write
Hermoso video. 🙏🏻
& Me sirvio.
Thank uuu.
Thanks for dropping by the channel and writing. I'm glad you found the video useful!
Still rocking my z650. I really like the lense and the simplicity when I'm lazy and don't want to use bulky SLR or t7 rebeldsrl
So much lighter than an SLR, too, which made it easy for me to grab it and go
I like the outputs, but I found it really hard to keep still with the shutter button
Did you find it was a bit hard to press down ?
I bought this camera may 2006 and still kicking! 💪 Beautiful photos. Got back then the easyshare dock plus to print also. The zoom is great. The con with the zoom in video mode is that you cannot use it while shooting. If you even have the red eye function off, you will never get a red eye picture with the flash. That was a huge plus back then. People looked like vampires with red eyes with other cameras 😅
It's pretty cool that these old cameras still work today. Great point about the red eye - I didn't realize the flash was so good!
I'm falling in love with FinePix S700
Awesome! And the FinePix S700 is a strong choice to compare vs the Z650. I experienced that both cameras offer similar value and can produce great photos.
Hi Dan, do you still use this camera?
Hi Francisco! I do not! I traded it a while after I tested it. Though, if I come across another, I'd grab it up.
are thay that good as i just got one from ebay
Hi John, thanks for watching and writing. I haven't seen many negative opinions about this camera. It actually seems to be well liked and still selling for up to $80 online. I personally enjoyed the quality of the lens and the feel of the camera.
Whats better between this and the minolta z5 dimage?
I have never tried out a Minolta Z5 Dimage - and I just searched it - I've never seen a camera that looks like that. I'd like to get my hands on one!
I’ve only used the Kodak a couple of times around the house, but I think the Minolta has more options to get a better range of photos
Ahh never mind I have the Minolta Dimage 5i, not Z5
