Today, on April 23, Sergei Prokofiev's birthday, we are delighted to share with you this video of a rehearsal of his ballet "Romeo and Juliet" choreographed by Leonid Lavrovsky. Featuring two principals of the Mariinsky ballet company, Viktoria Tereshkina (Juliet) and Xander Parish (Romeo), coachs and repetiteurs Lyubov Kunakova and Nikita Shcheglov as well as accompanist Ia Kroshilova.

Viktoria es para mi la mejor bailarina del mundo, ductilidad, musicalidad, tecnica increíble y ademas se adueña de cada rol de una manera q no he visto en otra bailarina, salvo Plisestkaia. Veo a Odette/Odile, Giselle, Raymonda y absolutamente todos esos personajes y no a una bailarina ejecutando una rutina. Bravo Vika, the best!!!!

Absolutely. I think the Royal Ballet didn‘t give him enough time. Many tall dancers need more time, because they need to develop muscles and must adapt to their growth for so much longer.
I think that the Russian system at a ballet company is much better, where every dancer has one personal teacher/mentor to guide him or her. In most other western companies, the dancers graduate from school, and once they are employed at a company, they are all by themselves. 😕

That's why the russian dancers are unique they have many facets there are some exceptions the Bournville method is lyrical I like some dancers from Paris but overall the russian method is hard work but if you love ballet you will be a talented preformer attractive artistically and when you dance you bring the time you dance in to life@@mathildewesendonck7225

@@BalletomaneM Это очень мешает воспринимать сам танец! Все должно быть гармонично!!! Когда у балерины внешность не в порядке - это мешает наслаждаться танцем! По-моему, это элементарно.

@@nelekirss454 Здесь репетиция, во-первых. Во-вторых, Виктории очень тонкие негустые волосы (она сама об этом говорила, что волосы у нее плохие), поэтому так смотрятся.
