The Bible suggests that parents should not engage in puffery. This is truly an exception. Your TED talk combined the best in being informative of a subject that few people have insight; it covered a highly technical area that exists through your mind and hands; and it was delivered in a manner that could be understood and enjoyed by all. Son, your mother and I are proud of you and do so with puffery.
As a past Dinner guest in your home in KC you showed me the microscope you were building, the tools of your trade, and passion. You walked through the projects you have created and been involved in. As we had conversations, I learned the history, pure breadth of your craft , I was enamored, and awestruck. That evening's dinner, conversation, and fellowship was truly a one of a kind assembly of moments to see and learn about your art. I was glad to see you present on Ted X as your passion, and field of work was incredibly hard to explain to others when having discussions on what you do. Bill, its nice to know you, keep up the astonishing work.
I am absolutely astounded and flabbergasted by his work, artistry, dedication, and absolute attention to detail. He and his work are deserving of boundless admiration, especially in our contemporary world of cheap throw-away goods. I am so often frustrated by my own absolute clumsiness in attempting detail work on any level, let alone miniatures, that I cannot even conceive of what Mr. Robertson is able to do. There should be an extensive video documentary of him in action. He, as well as his work, is a national treasure.
I had the pleasure of meeting this gentleman. He is absolutely the most genuine and passionate man I have ever talked to. I had no clue who he was, or what he did before talking with him, but very glad I got to know him!
not meaning to brag, but I was in bills shop when he made that microscope among other things believe me pictures dont do it justice, the detail is amazing to see in person so if you can go to the toy and miniature museum as soon as you can bill is one in a billion when it comes to this craft
I am so fortunate to view his work in The Mini Time Machine of Miniatures, in Tucson. He created the architects drawings and a tool box, plus others but he mentioned the tool box in his speech. Awesome skills.
Bill, I have followed your work (as rivett608) on the PM site for many years. You always inspire with your work. Thank you for this Tedx talk that describes what you do.
Cute story but where was the “new idea”? It’s a bit of a shame that Ted talks have become a way for people to brag without actually introducing a new concept.

Words fail me! Bill Robertson is living my dream life.
I know, right?

Simply amazing work. Something to aspire to.
Wow! Hope our paths cross someday. Brilliant artwork!
I met Bill Robertson in Maysville Kentucky working on a miniature exhibit. He is truly a great guy in person

His work including the microscope is extensively displayed at the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center in Maysville, KY in the KSB miniatures gallery
"You either get it or you don't"
Ah, I get that.
