  • This is basically to show the difference in the 2 mufflers on a 6.8 Triton motor.
Mods on the vehicle include a full Banks header to cat system and OEM piping from there.

Night and day difference between the two. Aeroturbine for the win..I have two of them (2525 with the separate resonators on the very end of the exhaust with 3" tips) in my 2005 dodge Magnum 5.7 hemi. Had one on a dodge 5.2L Dakota (3030xl). Everyone loved how it sounded.

I love those aero turbine mufflers. Best sounding muffler AND really does seem to add power. Thanks for the video.

92clintonr they are great, had one on 3 different cars, all 4cyls and no fart can sound out of them. Just deep tone. Only issue is the local police have suddenly taken interest in how loud my car is recently after having it for over 5 years....

The new one is quieter, not as much growl, but it is new. Sounds good to me. I too have the Triton V10. I put it through an endurance test in the high desert of Yucca Valley, ca. It's in a manlift bucket truck. In 2000 we had 2 Chevy 3500 and both broke down within 2 weeks. Then the GMC trucks suspension crapped out. I pounded on that V10 and it would not die, in 130° heat. Steel bed with 4' bins all around, plus a hydraulic man lift. needless to say that I bought one.

Really? The aero sounds much deeper and has a better growl, maybe difference in speakers?

Yeah the AT definitely sounds lower and louder to me too. With none of the MF's insulation matting to divert exhaust gas off to swirl around and dead end on the sides of the main pipe inside the AT, you get more pure straight through flow of the exhaust gas and all of its sound, for better or for worse. Better performance, but somewhat noisier sound.
Maybe a pre-muff resonator is in order?

Sounds great! V10 in a single pipe like this sounds better than true duals because of the 72 degree firing angle ... the single pipe moderates the drone sound. I used a Flowmaster HD 50 in a 2008 F350 and otherwise stock exhaust didn't raise my towing torque needing reprogramming.

Interesting. Your 6.8 V10 with the Aero sounds almost just the same as my 5.2L V8 with Magnaflow true duals.
If you're finding that too loud tho, go back to Magnaflow, but just don't use such a MASSIVE one. Use a Magnaflow universal 4x9x14. That'll get you right in between these two, and keep your interior resonance down more than that Aero does.

Aero it’s the best of all even better than a borla. I have a ram with the aero turbine with the resonantors deleted and it sounds amazing. My friends borlas sounds super loud but it has a high pitch but the aero is very deep in sound

Did the Banks set up make you gain any MPG? I have a 99 v10, mines already got a programmer an aftermarket muffler. Getting around 12mpg.

In my RV it improved drivability and 1.5 mpg... I can hold 45 uphill pulling a today.. it also stays on gear(auto trans).. no longer up and down shifting on inclines

What is the interior noise like..? Especially under towing load..?

    • @JonConstantine82

No real noise in cabin, and I don't tow so no info for that :(

That was my question. I currently have a Dynomax ultraflow and the drone is atrocious when towing.
