CC could have actually had 8 more assisits that ehr team mates just missed the shot with. 8 more assisits! thzt would have been 27 assists! Wow! Whe I say miss I mean like wide open shots or a simple latup.
THANK YOU for showing the misses, not just the made points. CC clearly could have had up to 25 assists (plus the W), if teammates hadn't missed layups and shot bricks. (Wide-open 3 attempts that barely hit the rim???)
Awesome player. A true generational talent indeed. Great court general and overall game. If only her teammates can convert on those perfect passes. She also is always a threat from 3 pt line. Rookie of the year no questions about it. We’re talking MVP stats here.
All that skill, all that talent, effort, energy spent, assists, passes, point of struggle to score, jumps shots, floor slams and body damage for what..??? She's breaking records, building points and surpassing others but for what..??? Sloppy careless team mates, unappreciated leadership, crappy managers, Blind, Blind officials, haters attacking her out of scorn for no good reasons, bullies, thugs, frustrated losers picking on her and making her struggles even harder than they have to be... She needs to move to a team that wants and yearns to win. She deserves a healthier group with positivity and camaraderie where she can shine even brighter. This amazing athlete was born to win and she's surrounded by losers. What a waste of her God given talent. No appreciation or consideration of any kind for what's she's done for the WNBA but mostly for women who went unnoticed and played in obscurity for years... She brought the light to the WNBA that was living in the Dark Ages and no real love for the girl... A class act that needs to be given recognition and praise but this is what it is...

You're right that its not an assist. Its not even close. Not because the dribble but because shooter created shot opportunity. No rules against dribbling twice.
In a game where SIX players on the Fever team played an average of 30 minutes each, the most assists that any other player aside from CC had was three (AB and Samuelson). Kelsey Mitchell had ONE, Nalyssa Smith and Lexi Hull both had ZERO. Now let us look at the Wings team. There were SIX players who had an average of 31 mins between them and THREE of their players had 7+ assists for the game and the other three players had at least one. Interestingly enough, ALL SIX of those Wings players had double digit points for the night. So, once again it is EVIDENT that CC registers these high numbers in assists because the rest of her teammates either don't know how or care to assist each other. Hence, whenever CC assist numbers are registered, one must put it in context because the FACT is if she were playing for any of the top teams in the league it would not be so padded because the top teams have top notch players who know how to ASSIST. Having said all that, this is in no way suggesting that CC is not an elite passer of the ball because she undeniably is, just that her stats are helped in a big way by how POOR her teammates are in that area. Trust me, if the others don't get better at it, then the Fever will not progress as far as they can and would want.

But they lost. One of my favorite stories from my time as a sportswriter started when one of my stringers chewed me out for not highlighting the fact that her boyfriend had just broken the school record for points in a game. He silenced her with the words "We lost the game."
Rookie MJ dropped 63 in playoff game against Bird and the Celts who went on to win the game and the title. No one ever talked about rookie Jordan’s Bulls losing. No one.

That first assist is not an assist. The player dribbled the ball twice.

Unfortunately CC does not get all the real calls, especially the one when she made the 3 and she falls. Referees are jealous of CC talent.
