- Food Network has always been pretty popular, but it has seen a particular upswing in interest over the past couple of years. It ended 2021 as one of the most popular cable networks in the U.S., and it's had some huge hits hit the airwaves.
One of those hits is the weekend morning show "The Kitchen," which showcases a group of famous chefs as they cook up recipes, offer up cooking tips, and swap stories. And while it was broadcast from a studio for quite a few seasons, moving to the chefs' homes in 2020 proved no big obstacle for the series. Here's the untold truth of Food Network's "The Kitchen."

I watch it. Good comfort tv and quite informative. Its a nice program.
I've only seen a few recipes I like that I haven't seen 3 weeks earlier
My thoughts are way too many long long long commercials. The kitchen show makes me nervous with everyone talking so loudly and talking over each other or all at once. Otherwise entertaining and educational.
It was better before. Jeff Mauro and Katie is the best on the show!! The rest can go

I love the Kitchen now. I started watching during the pandemic and their home shows were great! I'm glad they are all back together again. I look forward to watching it every Saturday morning. Don't change it Food Network! It's one of the few cooking shows and not a competition show , which I can't stand.

I don't think he only singles out, Sonny. He's pretty snippy to Jeff as well. I really love this show, and as eye rolling as Jeffrey's behavior can be sometimes, Sonny, Jeff, Katie, and Alex work.

I’ve watched this show since the beginning. Only actual cooking show I watch. I like the dynamic of the hosts.

Food Network does way too many competitive shows. Guy is full of himself. Good eats rules. A few other chefs also believe their own hype. Still one of my favorite channels.
I just PRAY that chip and Joanna gaines don't take over this network. I loathe that pair, and their shiplap, and their fake family bonding crap.

I agree, anytime Guy is on one of his several shows, I definitely change the channel or just turn the TV off. He annoys me! He is full of himself.
I don't mind the competitive shows as much as I do the chefs who travel and critique other peoples food. The one show is DDD. Guy is on every Friday for 16 hrs. then Saturday for 10 hrs. Give some new chef a chance.
I like Jeff. Katie and Geoffrey. Jeff makes great dishes.
Too much yelling on this show. Do they think it makes it more exciting? It doesn't - it's annoying as hell. Also, grabbing at food like you are starving, trying to be first to eat or get the biggest piece is really unattractive. Getting tired of it all.

@@anniecoble3223 Funny you should mention Jeff, because it's Sonny Anderson who absolutely sends me over the edge! Her yelling is far more annoying than Jeff's, and her grabbing at the food, shoving it in her mouth, and lip smacking is so piggish. Eat before you get to work, girl, tone it way down, and show some manners. PLEASE!

What is up with the Kitchen? Another repeat, they showed this one two weeks ago. The one with the grilled cheese & tomato soup. Anybody who can't make grilled cheese has a problem! Is this season over or was the show canceled? This show is usually on Sundays & Mondays. I don't watch this show often but when I do I would like to see something new!!

I've always enjoyed The Kitchen, the interaction between the hosts and the food. Thry all seem to be enjoying themselves
AG’s restaurant, BUTTER, is truly one of my favorites in NYC. GZ’s restaurant is another good one but his small plates and cocktails are better than the main menu.
Love the show. GZ thinks he's above everyone and they see who can use the biggest culinary or foreign word! Hate the shortening of words "dilush" for example. They cook food for heavens sake, just like us! Get real! "Fiber Alert! You know what I'm sayin'?' LOL!

I'm very picky about my Food Network shows as well as CZcams cooking videos but I have to say The Kitchen has really grown on me. Sonny is definitely annoyingly loud & too boisterous (for my taste) but that's just who she is. I LOVE the addition of Alex. Anyway...I like it.
I'm not a fan of Sonny either she's close to being another Whoopi

Never been a fan. I don't watch any Food Network anymore except I catch Pioneer Woman sometimes. I like the shows on Saturday (in my area) on PBS. Americas Test Kitchen, Milk Street, Lidia and some others over the years. Most of them are archived and available.
Whenever I check a broadcast date for the show, it’s from 2022 usually

I do the same when Katie's talking she likes to critique everyone's dish but get annoyed when the host critique or make suggestions on hers....

I love the kitchen!! I look forward to it every weekend! I will say I adore the hosts and Katie was my favorite but lately I cannot stand her. Sunny, Jeff and GZ get on so well and Katie acts as though she’s annoyed at Jeff. She acts like she’s entitled. But I will say the other 3 original hosts are fantastic. You really can feel the love they have for each other! I love that they brought in Alex, I never really thought much about her but she has definitely won me over!! I hope they start doing more of the “try/deny” and the little competitions they do, those are so fun to watch!! I also think they should replace Katie with Carla Hall!!
some of these comments are so mean… If you don’t like it or the hosts, stop watching it. For me, I love the show and ALL of the hosts. I miss Marcela, she was a great addition, I also loved her former program “Mexican Made Easy” and wish they’d give her another one featuring Mexican cuisine. Nothing but love for The Kitchen.
Wasn't it Marcela who had an affair with Paul Hollywood from British Baking show when they hosted an American version during Xmas Holidays?

It is getting too many ‘iron chefs’ for my liking. I liked the lighter style of the early shows. They had a much lighter vibe before Alex came along.

I used to watch these cooking shows and others but not any more. I find them very boring. I only wish Julia Child was still alive. I certainly would watch her. She was original.

Food Network has become a channel of fake competition cooking shows. I currently watch The Food Network Go app, The Cooking Channel app, and CZcams. The only cooking show that is not a competition cooking show that I actually watch now is Delicious Miss Brown which is new to the channel and brings fresh homemade home chef cooking skills.
And, you think others aren’t? There are a lot of home chefs on the Food Network and Ms. Brown is also a food caterer, if you listen to the intro you would know that!
I wish Marcela would come back. Honestly I don't really care for Alex. Her food it too complicated...most Americans don't eat French Style...most people are simple, regular cooks that need easy meals that aren't complicated and don't require exotic ingredients that most of us can't get or afford. Miss the old Gang. Also wish Sunny Anderson's cooking show would be put back on...she is funny and her along with Jeff make the show for me. They might make a cook show with those 2...maybe traveling and reviewing food....or maybe do a remake of 40.00 a day that Rachel Ray did in the beginning....Also can we bring maybe a Puerto RIcan show...there use to be a show loved Daisy Martinez or a show like that
Took a huge break from Pioneer Woman when she had the kids filming her show. Her flirting with her s-i-l. Iwas nauseating. Also she kept trying to be their age. When she showed us how high she could kick her leg, was the, “Jump the Shark” moment. I came back when she became an empty nester.

Food network ratings dropping because the evening shows are rerun after rerun. The old style of chief shows much better than all the dumb competing shows at nights. Love the kitchen and all day shows. They need to have them at night also

Jeff and Geoffrey, please say the whole word, i.e. Delish vs Delicious. For people who are trying to learn the English language this is very annoying. Also, it looks like you are trying to look younger than you are….think Dad Dancing. Katie and Marcella cut from the same all about me cloth. An ensemble cast is not for them. Let them have their own shows or the 2 of them together.
