Circular breathing is incredibly difficult to do! This guy just put on a circular breathing masterclass. Made it look easy.
Yup. Circular breathing. You could see his cheeks puff when he used the air in his mouth while breathing in through his nose.
It's almost impossible to learn and do well...

I support the Lions for their hard work and I hope they win the NFC Championship game against San Francisco 49ers and go against the Ravens or the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58

I was there,the crowd got so loud and hyped and the rest is history, that started the 134.3 decibels,great rendition, great game and win. I believe, Go Lions ❤🏈❤️🏈

My brother in law Eric Hillman of Beaverton, MI was a lifelong Lions fan up to his death on August 1, 2023 at age 74. He never missed a game and was loyal through every season, good and bad. He was also a loyal patriotic American to his core and true Christian who truly loved all people, especially his family. Eric would have loved Mike's rendition of the National Anthem. It would have been a thrill to enjoy the Lions this season with Eric. But as his family said at his memorial, He'll have the best seat in the house this season.

Funny thing is, I saw this on Instagram, no tag whatsoever, and I said, "That saxophone style sounds VERY familiar." Then when I heard the announcer say that it was Mike Phillips, my immediate reaction was, "Yo!!! I have his second CD!" 😁

People singing the anthem don't usually hit 1 note for 30 seconds....that was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to long. Maybe 10 seconds at most to keep it respectful

Fabulous! For those wondering how he held that last note, that is a technique called ‘circular breathing’. It’s a really advanced technique that enables the player to take breaths in through their nose while using air held in the mouth to play the note. Hey sax players, help me out and provide more detail on this, I may not have explained it correctly….!🎷
