NEW LIMITED-TIME MODE: LOCKDOWN
Hold fast with your squad and defend your domain in Lockdown, the first 4-squad free-for-all battle for dominance. Squads will spawn in with standard TDM loadouts and seek out Capture Zones, which will periodically spawn throughout the small, mayhem-filled maps: Thunderdome, Skulltown, Zeus Station, and Monument. Earn points by capturing zones, holding them uncontested, and eliminating other players. The first squad to 500 points wins.

Was really fun playing this game mode, what do you think of it? I also brought up my concerns on meta balancing, but curious to see how it does in a real environment!

Respawn wants campers not actually skilled players. You can have dgsht aim and make it to master at least just by camping (sry "Defending position"). The meta gets campier by the legend and now by the ltm.
So like old school headquarters from cod or I think it's hard point now
This is really my kind of mode. I love Zone Control in FPS games. Will be playing the heck out of Lockdown.

Just like all the other temporary modes, it needs work... you can't just put small square sections to hold without adding in other stuff to make it more practical, though I can't explain exactly what I'd add... Tweak the skills, or have some traps or Nessies or something unique like with the FF7 event. Now that I think of it the similar mode from Titanfall did it better, as does of course The Finals... As it is it just feels like squares on the map you need to stay in, while everybody else does the same thing - there's very little strategic value to be had and it feels like a shit show most of the time. Especially because of how some legends are obviously way better for this than others. I do like it though! I like all the temporary modes, keeps things feeling fresh.
You forgot one thing: They don't care about balancing. New mode = New content. No matter how unbalanced and terrible the ltm releases it is still a ltm and that is all that matters to Respawn/EA.

Also is it beat to rotate to the next hill every 20 seconds or so?
I was trying to see but I noticed the next hill wouldn't always show in advance but other times it did.
I like hardpoint in CoD so I am excited it's coming to Apex. I wonder if this will be a competitive game mode in the future.
I think Newcastle, seer, octane and pathfinder will be meta. Kind of lik3 in arenas. Newcastle ult can crush Conduits.
Perhaps you enjoyed the mode a lot because you were playing with people that actually try to be good at the game

Absolutely. Mixtape is a vibe but every time I have to play Control I just wanna kill myself. It's unbelievable how bad that mode is. What's more unbelievable is that it's somehow the most popular mode

I knew quads coming was too good to be true. Honestly will probably ignore this ltm. I would’ve been more excited if this was actually the datamined quads being tested in this ltm. What a shame.

Who tf wants to play quads ?? A solo game mode is what we want. Even as a weekend LTM

@@BlackShinobi. forreal. At least give us a solo free for all mode. They should bring back solo BR though. They've already abandoned the original vision the original devs had for this game, so now there's no reason for them not to try it again now that the game is so much different from how it was in season 2 when they first released it as an LTM
Kills should not count for points in KOTH
Doesn’t really give you many points, and you should be rewarded if you’re defending just outside the capture zone. Just my opinion though, you got a point.
@@matt_gunz I get that but it changes the whole flow and dynamic of an otherwise tried and true game mode. It may not be much, but with how everything is TDM to apex players, a mode without kill incentives would have been a nice change of pace. It also has potential to ruin clutch moments or close calls when 2 or more teams are close on capture points/time. Idk
This game mode is trash it encourages teams to play caustic rampart Watson and cat which is beyond pathetic and annoying every team is doing it control to it’s just really sad lol😂

i can't believe Controller legends would be strong in an objective game mode no way
conduit needs a nerf especially with auto healing . it needs a delay in activation on herself . i see absolute bots running around engaging blindly getting almost downed but managing to survive cause the shield comes back up in a heart beat
