City releases nearly finalized design for new Ocean Beach Pier

The City of San Diego released its nearly finalized design for the new Ocean Beach Pier Saturday. The pier has been closed since late last year after it was damaged beyond repair by large waves, king tides and high surf in several Pacific storms this winter.

Gotta admit, the pier has a “ major flaw “ design when it was constructed. The entrance of pier should’ve extended straight ahead , instead of having a “dip” when you walk towards near the motor cage thingy. No wonder the pier keeps getting damage every winter storm. The pier needs to be a lot higher from water level than it is right now. I can’t wait to visit the new pier someday.

$200 million dollars for a pier?.........the surf will not allow you to build a pier that size. It will be destroyed in the high surf during the process. Back to the drawing board.........

I got a better place to use the money. Why not fix our dang pot holes that we pay you to fix. Raise our taxes for a pier. I think your priorities are most definitely in the wrong direction.
