    We prepare bitterleaf this way in my country to prepare porridge plantains and cocoyams. Though at times the bitter is still bitter but it has a natural taste

    Wow 😮, great idea to boil and wash the bitter leaves. I remember in the village, you will wash it several times and they are still bitter. I like them in egusi soup with light bitter taste. Thanks for sharing this technique 👍

      But your people don’t cook bitter leaf soup, otherwise you will not dry it, you use fresh bitter leaf for bitter leaf soup , and it is not cut into that tiny bits . specialty of people from the Southeast of Nigeria.

    Good but the idea of dropping the stems on the.soil is not for me.I feel is contaminating and.picks sand. That's why some bitter has particles of sand in them sometimes X

    • @leahscreen
      @leahscreen  Před 5 měsíci +3

      it was washed before processing and even during the cooking if there are still any sand, it will sink to the buttom of the pot👍

    • @tinaogbake251
      @tinaogbake251 Před 5 měsíci +2

      That's the reason Leah thoroughly washed and rinsed twice in plenty water inside the big bowl before boiling!
      This way the sand settles at the bottom while the bitter leaf is removed.
