The look on Amber's face as it slowly dawns on her what exactly the big brown beaver is 😂
I remember when I first read the title of this song on the cd I bought and thought wtf they can't be making a song like that but after I listened to it I laughed so hard at the fact it was a song about a pet beaver lmao 😂
She left her body for a second 🤣
Are does she really know??
I do believe the beaver they are referring to has nothing to do with an actual beaver.
Wife and I were howling at that :-)
“Tommy The Cat” should be your intro to Primus. Y’all got thrown into the deep end here. 🤪
And almost drowned 😆
@@ryanawilson8549 Yup!
i was thinking my name is mud....shows off the bass mastery but i dig your choice as well
"Tommy the cats my name"
This
When Amber says " this is something I would play for my class" I was like oh girl, hold that thought! 😅
😂
Larry LaLonde is probably one of the few guitarists that can keep up with and perfectly complement Les's bass and vocal.
He has to say to Les “Dude, what am I supposed to play to that” very often😂
"Jerry was a racecar driver" by Primus is nice.
He never did win no checkered flag but he never did come in last...
Nah, it sucks!
@@tmerrick24 With a Bocephus sticker on a 442 he'd light 'em up just for fun.
You are both just adorable.

“It sounds like a song you’d play in a classroom”… yeah, definitely DON’T do that!
I laughed when she said that.
OMG! 😂😂😂
Yep. Amber needs to look up big brown beaver in the urban dictionary!🤣😂😭
yes, do not play in class, you don't want the kids running home to report how they learned all about the big brown beaver
😂 yeah, not my first thought hearing the title of the song
Back in the 90's, my friends and I used to joke that there are three kinds of rock; metal, grunge and Primus. They really are entirely their own thing.
Almost spit out my coffee, laughing so hard. Love your reactions
Amber's blank stare the whole time is just.... I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. 😆😆😆😆😆
I’ll third that emotion 🤣
BUDADUHDOYbudaduhDOYEEE
*edit for required eee's
When she just stopped and that expression said it all. I was waiting on it and wasn’t disappointed 🤣
That was my exact reaction the first time I saw this video time. I'm laugh crying!
I'd hold off on playing it in an elementary classroom Amber.
At this point I'd hold off playing it in a college classroom 🙃
Primus is like tuna flavored punch. They are very special in their own way. The talent is undeniable. Les Claypool is my favorite bassist of all time. Beware... At first listen, Primus will leave you wondering "What was that?" But if you keep listening, your ears and mind start to absorb their unique sound, and before you realize it, you are addicted to them, like me. Never take Primus serious though. They are all about fun. Don't try to understand it all. Just get the groove, smile and enjoy.
Tuna flavored punch 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!!! Nail on the head, my friend!!!
"Tuna flavored punch". Brilliant 👍
TFP...😂
well Geddy Lee is my favorite all-time Bassist, and I think it would be awesome if him and Les would get together and have an awesome bass jam
No truer words were ever spoken.
She has the most frozen bewildered look on her face. It’s priceless.
Oh, man, I hope you guys do "My Name Is Mud" from them next. Perhaps the most catchy bass riff I've ever heard. Used to see the music video when I was a kid and it's stuck in my head for over 20 years!
Second!
@@MechaJoezilla 3rd
yeppers!
You want to kill her?
😂😂😂😂
The fat guy in the video for "My Name is Mud" is a DJ I used to listen to!
The Look on Amber's face is priceless.
I wonder if she explained it to Jay later on.
I was about to say the same thing.
Three hyper-talented musicians, who had a diverse following of skate punks, stoners, serious music afficiandos and everything in between. And they didn't take themselves one bit seriously. Love this band.
Hahahaha you’re too innocent and wholesome the both of you , don’t ever change 😇 hahah
Primus is some of the most talented musicians you'll come across. And not to be taken too seriously! Very eccentric and super fun.The cowboy suits were only for this video. The bass player/vocalist is Les Claypool. An amazingly talented musician that's worked on so many projects and other bands it's hard to keep up. Great band!!
Wynona had a big brown beaver, she showed it to all her friends"...hillariuois
He also sang the South Park theme song.
@@RichardX1 He also did the theme music for Robot Chicken. He auditioned to be the bassist for Metallica after Cliff died but the band told him he was too good.
@@raymo6795 How do they not know what "beaver" is a reference to? They should have gotten it just through all of the innuendos.
@@RichardX1 Richard Thompson is the GREATEST LIVING GUITARIST/SINGER/SONGWRITER and those who do not know this; educate yourself !! Listen to Richard Thompson!!!
Love the slack-jawed look on Amber’s face. That whole “WTF are we listening to?” vibe.
Priceless
I have a feeling Amber won’t be going to a Primus concert anytime soon. 🤣
Amber, your reaction to this was cracking me up I was literally laughing out loud.
the look on her face SCREAMED "could not be less impressed"
"This isn't Bob Dylan" is probably the most vague yet somehow perfect description for Primus, I love it.
I'm still laughing at that.
It ain't Metallica either. 😄
@@dipsydoodle7988 Did you know Les Claypool auditioned for Metallica after Cliff Burton’s death?
@@TahoeNevada yes, thus the reference. They told him to keep on keeping on...just not with them. 😂
Can you imagine Les in Metallica??
@@dipsydoodle7988 Yes. And no. 😂
Primus is a great band that doesn't take themselves too seriously. Amber's expression was all she needed for her review.
I just wanted to say that I truly love what ya'all do, and the message that you send out in your videos. We need more folks like you in the world, now more than ever. Many thanks, my friends! Keep being beautiful!
I love the look on her face when it hits her what the song is actually about! priceless!!
Amber's reaction on her face when she realized what they are singing about 😆❗
Their music may not be for everyone, but Primus is one of the most talented and eccentric bands out there. The “Primus Sucks” statement is like the bands mantra so if someone says it they usually mean the opposite. They are out there though so their music may take a little getting use to. I would suggest “John the Fisherman” if you decide to try them again. 🤘
Yes to this! John the Fisherman or Fish On. The fishing songs are really good, lol
Do they have anything in common with "The Residents"?
Yes .I would add Jerry was a little racecar driver as well
I’ve watched a lot of primus reactions and they always follow the same arc, no matter who.
1: utter confusion
2: slowly understanding
3: laughter
4: intense grooving
Billy Joel / Scenes From An Italian Restaurant
Piano, horns, great riffs, and song lyrics sung by one of the smoothest voices in rock history.
"Sounds like something you would play in a classroom".... hehehehehehehe.
I already have an idea how this is gonna go. 😂😂😂😂😂 the big brown beaver is a double-entendre.
The looks on your face are priceless! Welcome to Primus!
Omg her face 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too hilarious
I love it when people see this for the first time it just makes me crack up
Especially the look on Amber's face lol 🤣
I love how you guys didn't want to go near the double entendre subtext of the title and lyrics. "Wynona loved her big brown beaver, and she stroked him all the time" doesn't require too much interpretation.
I had no idea Wynona was so into animal rescue.
I do feel like "beaver" being slang for vagina is not as Much a thing as it used to be.
"She pricked her finger one day and it occurred to her, she might have a porcupine!" On top of the double entendre is... well, imma just say it... Wynona has a penis lol
The genius of primus. They know you'll think vagina but it's literally just about a beaver. Les said he got the idea after coming across a beaver while fishing.
A couple of fun facts :
Les Claypool, the lead singer and bass player, also wrote and recorded the theme for South Park.
Les also, according to interviews, auditioned to be the bass player for Metallica after Cliff Burton was killed.
There's a clip of Les playing the intro to Metallica's "Master of Puppets" on his bass live at one of the Woodstock concerts.
OMG Rob rocking out while Amber looks mortified for most the song almost killed me! I love your reactions and this is one of my favs!
I love the look on Ambers face the whole time is like “What the hell?”🤔 😹
Ambers face through the first part of the song 🤣
When I saw you were reacting to Primus I had to watch to see Ambers reaction to this group, I had worked for a N.Cali concert promoter and worked several of Primus’ shows before I could understand what they were about, seriously I am laughing out loud watching Amber, Les Claypool and the boys are actually very good musicians although I’m not sure who to compare them to, Thank you Amber for the belly laugh (south side OG)🎙✌️😎
You have to understand that Primus don't take themselves seriously, but they are very serious musicians
Yep. They ARE talking about what you think they are! Definitely NOT for the classroom Amber! 😂🤣😭
Primus are massively talented musicians, they're one of those bands that are highly respected by people who live and breath the music industry, but they're befuddling to the general public. They managed to get a few songs into the zeitgeist during that magical period of the 90s when weird rock bands of every imaginable subgenre had a shot. The other somewhat-well-known Primus song from that era is "Tommy the Cat", with narration by Tom Waits as the title character. And Tom Waits is yet another one of those artists that music people adore. He's had songs covered by Rod Stewart, Sarah McLachlan, The Ramones, and The Eagles... and Scarlett Johansson did an entire Tom Waits cover album (yes, *that* Scarlett Johansson!) If you want to start digging into Tom Waits, I recommend "Downtown Train" to start with, it's the song that Rod Stewart turned into a hit single, and it's probably one of his more "accesible" tunes.
And Bruce Springsteen covered Tom Waits' "Jersey Girl". I agree "Downtown Train" is a good start. Others would be "Hold on", "Tango Till They're Sore", "The House Where Nobody Lives" or some early Tom like "Drunk on the Moon" or "Heart of Saturday Night". Jay and Amber! Tom Waits for you!
Well said bro.👊🏻
@@richcianci yes, I knew I was missing a big name for that list. fun fact: Tom initially wrote Jersey Girl to make fun of Bruce's songwriting and singing style, so it wasn't exactly a coincidence that Bruce ended up liking it enough to cover it. Many years later they "buried the hatchet" so to speak and performed it together (I believe that version is the one played during the closing credits of the movie Jersey Girl starring Ben Affleck and George Carlin).
Priceless….. the look on Amber’s face for practically all of the song…. Had me howling with laughter….. best video yet guys ….
I was waiting for your review of this one!😂😂
Primus is one of the greatest bands ever. Les Claypool is a GOD on bass.
Geddy Lee, Flea, and Les Claypool. 3 greatest bassists of all time.
@@cirrustate8674 Jaco Pastorius might have something to say about that.
@@TheBuzzo72 along with Victor Wooten.
@@cirrustate8674 Cliff Burton has to be up there too
my top three is les claypool, the guy from primus and the bassist in south park theme song.
They do the South Park Intro😁👍try 'My name is Mud🤔 pronounced, Pry-mus🤪
Ok that is where I know them from
ALL Primus music is interesting and SUPER musical...I have seen them live and the WHOLE crowd is moving to their music.
So glad you took on Primus. Forget the lyrics...Primus is about music. Les Claypool is a bass god. Just saw Primus live a month ago...still amazing. They did play this. They were so hard to categorize that Primus is considered by some to be their own genre of Alternative (Funk) Metal...they are kind of a mix of funk metal, alternative and progressive rock. Guitarist Larry "Ler" LaLonde is underrated and drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander is SERIOUSLY underrated. I also recommend "My Name is Mudd" and "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver." Do not expect normal. Who wants normal anyway? Amber...your stare...is awesome! Welcome to Primus. It will pull you in...forget the lyrics...it's the music.
The singer plays a fretless bass and he can tear it up making it sound different.
I like, ‘My Name is Mud’ by them. This probably wasn’t the song to introduce you to Primus. Les Claypool (singer/ bass player) can play the bass guitar like a boss though.
The look on Amber’s face was priceless!
OMG.... her expression on her face! Just hangin' there like.. "what the hell am I watchin""!!! Lol
Loved the stunned look of disbelief on Amber's face, priceless.....why I watch you two.
😁
If you guys have ever seen South Park , Primus does opening verse of theme song for the show before the characters start singing
Her face the whole 3/4 of the beginning of the video...priceless!
I'll never forget the look on my dad's face when he heard me listening to this song (I was 19 so he mostly laughed, but was also stunned lol)
Try Jerry was a race car driver from the same group. You will see them without their cowboy suits. The bass player is phenomenal! His techniques are incredible!
Primus does the theme song for "South Park".
"Meet some friends of mine", you've heard that line before.
Oh, and the costumes are just in this one video.
Way back they had characters like that as a family doing battery comericals
Some of the most talented musicians in rock. All virtuosos.
I love that you guys are listening to some Primus!!! Most innovative bass player of all time in this band. Keep it going!!
Primus is great, the bass is outstanding in all their songs.
Less is one of the top bassist in music
Omg!!! This song takes me back to Middle school my whole class got written up by the Vice principal for playing it during indoor raining day recess the year it came out …forgot all about this song
You said Wynona'a big brown beaver Let's get into it!!! Almost fell out of my chair!!!
Her face spectacular 😂
Claypool is one of the best all time bass player. Yes, they are eclectic, but you can't deny the musicianship of all the players!
Primus opening for Rush was the greatest concert ever! Real music and no dancing!
No, Primus opening for Pink Floyd, New Orleans 1995 was the greatest concert ever!!!
No, Great White opening for Whitesnake, Rapid City 1987 was the greatest concert ever!!!
Primus is going on tour in 2022 doing Rush covers from what I heard last week.
Hahaha
The look on Amber's face is priceless.
But watching them in concert is so different.
I had to re watch this just see Ambers reaction again. It just makes me crack up.
If the sound of the band seems familiar--they performed the South Park Theme song😄
I was about 10 years old singing “Wynona’s got herself a big brown beaver and she shows him off to all her friends” mom about shot me
The riffs and the bass kicks ass. I could see me playing this song pumping up the volume.
Hands down I laughed so hard at ya’lls reaction to this video…. Classic!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lead singer/bassist is Les Claypool.
Try Jerry Was A Race Car Driver from them next.
They also did a cover of N.I.B. by Black Sabbath with Ozzy
I'd be willing to give NIB a shot but this ain't for me.
@@itsmedino The band is different, I'll give you that. lol
Jerry Was A Race Car Driver or My Name is Mud might be a little better for you.
@@itsmedino
Oh yeah definitely 👍
Les Claypool is the singer/bassist. He also does the South Park intro.
They also did a song on the south park album Chef Aid
Les Claypool also does the theme song for Robot Chicken
@@yankeerepairs sure does! Forgot about that. Haha
Ahhh hahaha. The reaction is epic!
Best use of a base EVER!! Been lovin on Primus for decades ❤️
Saw them open for Rush once/ talking about bass player heaven. Geddy joined Primus for the last song!
I saw that tour as well, in Houston. The sound for Primus was awful- Ice pick to the eardrums.
Yeah. Not for a class room. Saw these guys decades ago before they were popular. No weird costumes. Just really good music. And as stated below the bass guitar work is a hallmark of Primus' music.
Thanks for making me laugh, Amber. I needed that.
I don't know how fun this reaction was for Amber, but I had a blast!
Please tell me you're not really trying to make sense of Primus LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
I love the look on Amber's face for the entire song.
Lyrics are hilarious; gotta love the double entendres
The look on Amber's face is CRACKING ME UP!!! IDK if it's generational or not, but "beaver" is a euphemism for female anatomy. Listen to it again with that knowledge
Les Claypool is one of the greatest bass players of all time.
Really had me laughing so hard at Amber's reaction. Les Claypool is absolutely one of the greatest bass players you'll ever hear. I know that this video had you kind of freaked out but you would do yourself a favor and watch "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" at it will show them in real life and it features Les' bass.
“I’m afraid of these things.” Classic!!
The look on her face is absolutely priceless! 😂
Just like Primus are dressed up in colourful, exaggerated coverings; so is the song pictures, and lyrics. It's rife with double meanings, slang, and double entendre. The "big brown beaver" is exactly what you think it is ... and it don't cut down trees.
It does tear up wood though.
I don’t think they have any idea at all. And I love them for that. 😂
@@alicia5668 Hahaha that’s a good one.
It can _influence_ the cutting of trees.
When my sweetie sez “yard needs weed whacking” I know if it’s not “whacked” by me post-haste, likely _nothing else_ will be by anyone else for a while 😳
BAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAH welcome to the genius and the odd-ness (aka: unique-ness)of primus!!--checkout “here come the bastards”.....”tommy the cat”......”jerry was a race car driver”....so many.....”fish on”
3:16 - The expression on Amber's face here is priceless.... It says, "What the hell am I watching right now?" LOL
90's jam band with hilarious lyrics and incredible musicians.
This is the perfect nonsense song that I play every so often to cheer myself up with and I also love Les Claypool's bass skills
I swear everyday your subscription numbers go up! Soon you are going to reach 200k. Great, great job!!!!!✌❤
Was lucky enough to see Primus live a couple months ago. Amazing experience.
for the love of me I cant stop laughing hahahahahaha....they are TOO good lol
Woot! Thanks for picking one of my suggestions! Yes Primus is very different, but that's the point to get out of your comfort zone right? The bass player is so awesome in this song. I have the feeling Amber wont trust me anymore though!
Primus' "Fish On" has some _outstanding_ bass guitar work up front.
Alright! Love it! This is great
Now _that's_ entertainment!
This song and video are so great.
