I used to perform a single coin through a deck of cards into a shot glass using (what I'm guessing is) a similar method. With that version, however, you had to carefully balance the coin on the lip of the glass, held in place by the weight of the deck. Now I'm thinking you could modify the card box by adding a flat little "something" on the inside of the box and perform it the same way (if I'm guessing your method correctly). There's a gimmicked coaster I've seen that pops a coin into view. I've never owned one so I don't know how inspectable it is. Could make for a very nice clean looking ending, with the glass turned upside down on the coaster, everything in full view, this last time the coin penetrating the glass.
This is the Coaster gimmick from TCC. it's pretty cool and you have the right idea. I didn't like the way they handled it in the tutorial, so I streamlined it and I think it makes it a little more fooling. You should check their trailer for it. I'll be putting up a review soon. Bottom line...I like it.
The trick I was thinking of is Roller Coaster by Hanson Chien. Beautiful as usual. Are you using Kainoa's Victorian glass by any chance? I love it. Also, If I may humbly suggest something: When l*pping the glass, maybe you could move it off center, as if to move it out of the way of the coins. I understand that keeping one hand directly behind the other serves for coverage, but It requires your body language to close and shoulders to tense up in the "cheating" moment. Even if the audience can't see it, I believe they might sense something. This may be more useful in real life of course, in video it looks fine. Either way, it is a very subtle difference.
