Never thought I'd sit down and voluntarily watch a ten-minute block of commercials, yet here we are.
This was back when you can watch commercials without wanting to end yourself
It's 2022, and this is the first time I've seen these commercials... because we always got up to get a snack or go pee when they originally came on back in the day 😂
Nov 2022 here. Haha crazy old beforetimes
Times before the area code was needed
And then of course none of us can forget Sobey's "Star of Christmas.........."
It's 2020, I've been living in Atlanta for over 20 years... and I still know all the words to Casino Taxi's jingle (and I don't even know my own phone number.)
I work for Casino Taxi in the office there! Funny after all these years they have not felt the need to re-vamp or modernize the jingle...yup it still remains unchanged after all these decades! Guess they don't need to, as it's still pretty darn catchy though! Hilarious when people call for their cab (especially if they are drunk at a party) and I answer the phone and they are drunkenly yodeling the jingle!!!
It's funny, because that is how I remember the number, I hum the jingle. And, it is the only taxi company number that I do remember, lol.
Hell, when you're drunk it's the only taxi number you remember. That campaign was genius. Probably saved a lot of lives too.
They did actually add one thing to the Jingle at the end when they say now accepting Debit
Trailer park boys gave them life in S7 & the '06 movie.
The TK's jingle almost teleported me back in time, fookin 30 years since I heard that 1, thanks for the blast!!!
Most energetic pizza commercial I have ever seen... Way to go, Pizza Delight!
I came here for 05:03,the song Bubbles sings when he's baked in the car.hahaha
Nekrocold You Know It.
IM FUCKIN HIGH
this is still the jingle casino taxi runs on the radio. lol
It still plays
Nekrocold Check out " Sandbox - Curious" Bubbles was on guitar;) Also look up " Hip Club Groove" to see familiar faces.
Or " Johnovision" lol...you're prob a local and know these things? 🍀
TK's Carpets! I have no idea why, but that jingle popped into my head the other day and I'm so glad I finally found the commercial. Now I can subject everyone else to it! :D
All these years later, and I still remember the lyrics to the Casino Taxi commercial. lol
Okay... tell the truth... how many of you sang along with the Casino Taxi jingle? I still remember their number using that tune.
casino taxi has to be one the best marketing jingle in history, a halifax staple as much as the dome
I lived in Calgary for a while and even then the only taxi number I could remember was Casino! Didn't do me much good while I was 5000 km away!
This is my teenage years!!! Amazing!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!!
Bubbles also sang the old Green Gables jingle while stoned...and there was the bit where he wakes up singing the Vogue Optical jingle in the first movie.
im really amazed for 1980 commercials they are very good
This is awesome!! Takes me back to my childhood... Makes me homesick... Nova Scotia's commercials haven't changed much... HeHe!!
Shannon Labelle once a blue noser... Always a blue noser. I've been gone 22 years and still miss it.
It's 2022 and Casino Taxi is still using that same jingle lol
$3.95 for lunch ??? Damn times have changed. haha
that 3.95 back then is worth $11 now
rightsideofhistory yes it has
And a pickup truck for less than $10,000!
I had no idea it would get this many views :)
Thank you and best of luck to you 🍻
That jingle for Casino Taxi is etched in my brain - I never forgot their number. Whoever wrote that jingle deserves a reward.
These are great! I remember 75% of them.
This is utterly fantastic. Thanks for sharing it.
SO VERY AWESOME! Thanks for posting.
I ate crocodile at Cindy's, circa 1984...fine Cajun Qua-zine. The lost years in Halifax....what a party!
Thanks for posting that Patrick! Loved every nostalgic second! Long live the boys from the Inglis St. hood and the pellet gun fights in Marlborough woods. - David Ross.
Cool blast from the past! I am trying to find Jeans Experts commercials early ‘90’s
Holy Hell this is truly outrageous... truly truly outrageous !!!! ;) Thanks so much for posting!
Casino Taxi cracks me up... what a great ad campain. Did it ever change? Not that it needed to.
I really, really hope that someday, someone uploads a Green Gables commercial. I've been checking from time to time for many years now...

Oh Im fucking hiiiiiiigh!!!
Happy nobody loves me better than Pizza Delight
the water bong is so smooth at 5:03
I worked there as a waiter in the 80's/90's it was a good time, great people.
If I had to guess, I'd say the building at the beginning of the Casino taxi commerical is the then-named "Maritime Mall", now known as the Maritime Center.
These are great!
Its 2020 ..im homesick & its come to this
Funny while watching the prices on some of the things I was thinking the prices for still like that I could afford to buy a house within a year or two off my current paycheck. I could also go out to lunch after only working for about an hour. :)
***ROUND OF APPLAUSE*** Great job!
Being completely greedy, I would have LOVED to have seen the Green Gables store commercial in there!!..."At Green Gables we stay open just for you..."!
czcams.com/video/kKM3vSlP1F4/video.html
P.S. Thanks for posting these
very nice
Bubbles sent me... i'm high as fuck right now. HIGH. AS. FUCK.
HIGH. AS. FUCK.
HIGH. AS. FUCK.
i remember this 1 as well, Montreal showed it for Vacation in Nova Scotia
Amazing
I don't know how many times I've watched this f***ing video hahaha
I had a mad crush on Ron Zema as a teenage girl....loved his voice...lol
I was really hoping for the original Richies Carpet Warehouse jingle, but nonetheless this did not disappoint! Thanks for compiling these!
Don't have a commercial but here's the jingle: czcams.com/video/oKsuwFsg7Ac/video.html
Cindy from the first commercial is my cousin! Thanks for putting it up :)
80's Nova Scotia must've been L I T 🔥
It was
Tons of hookers 😉
still is
awesome
Casino taxi! I still remember this tune...years later! and is that the maritime museum at the beginning of the ad? "Blackened Steak!!!! That's not my bill!!" LOL
Holy Crap this brings me back.... it makes me homesick too, I grew up in the Valley and now I live in California!
That fucking casino taxi commercial drives me nuts!
Casino taxi or Sackville 80...gettin' down town to the Lower Deck!
3:07
Holy fuck. They typewriter that ate Nova Scotia.
That taxi one brings back memories
2 level free parking?! Sign me the fuck up!
Bubbles sang the Casino Taxi jingle on an episode of Trailer Park Boys...while stoned.
this is great, #TRAILERPARKBOYS brought me here
Geoff Banks (C100fm) voicing the Degelis charcoal ad.
5:03 - Fuckin' Bubbles! lol. TPB!!!
I remember most of these ads and every once once in a while i find myself singing the casino taxi song all these years later. Does anyone have that ad from Green Gables about late night shopping? "If you forgot to buy some food, now it's late!"
czcams.com/video/kKM3vSlP1F4/video.html
You could do better commercials on a entry level Mac today. But ahhh the memories
And the Pizza Delight servers double as nannies 😂
Papa Ginos Egyptian head move !
I'm not sure where you found these but I'd be extremely interested in finding a White Point Beach Lodge commerical from circa 1985. Thanks!
Thanks for the share! I don't suppose you know what auto dealership had the commercial the kept saying "crush it!" And "we crush the competition", random, I know but we are hunting for it, from 2008 2009 or so
I remember everyone 😂
I must be old … I know almost everyone in these commercials
TKs carpet is STILL there
I did the casting for some of these.
Oh, you're to blame! (LOL) Really, the spots look as good as any comparable US market in the period of time noted.
Where is the commercial for Green Gables?
czcams.com/video/kKM3vSlP1F4/video.html
That was actually a pretty cool walk down memory lane. But I pose a query.... how many Among Us viewers when hearing the casino Taxi theme, was picturing bubbles in the backseat of Ricky's car freaking out? 😀
When you think Bens think Buns!, I can sing along to Casino Taxis jingle
Charlie Doucet wrote the Casino Taxi AND the Green Gables one! Remember that one? You forgot to buy some food and now it's late. You'd like a tasty snack, but it's late!
Who knew commercials were in such demand...
Its too bad highliner is not even fished in our waters, but then thats before we knew better.
hhahahaha Pizza Delight takes the cake for me. "No body loves you better!"...? Who ok'd that?!
@YYZ2 You are correct!
Wow those tk's chicks look like grandmas even in their prime lol. Gotta love halifax.
$72,ooo now close to $500,000
❤
is the Greco "cluck like a chicken" commercial kicking around ? It was filmed on Inglis St in Truro in mid 90s..Yours truly stared in it ,Greco acutely paid me to cluck, lol
With Casino Taxi, I was once in Israel and really drunk and called that number,
@YYZ2 And judging from the Google Streetview (corner of Barrington and Salter streets), they haven't repaved Barrington street since that commercial was shot.
Cindy from Papa Gino's reminded me of a bobblehead doll.
I started watching this video 11 years ago, then I stopped, and just started watching it again.
I had forgotten all about Mad Man McKay's (so many things to say about that particular commercial. My take, cheap production values.)
Was Creighton's based in Australia? (note the background music).
Nice to hear Ron Zima's voice, listened to him frequently during my teenage years.
Thanks for uploading! So did Scotia Square go through its first major internal renovation in the 80's??
HA. Forgot about that TK's Carpet jingle.
What a pair of cuties singing it!
I remember some of those, a lot I'd never seen. But I must admit watching ads for car sales has never been my favorite activity. We might have had some political ones, like the one where the little jingle 'It's John for Nova Scotia' - pretty much the only programme - got John Buchanan elected.
this comment made my year. so true, hahah
ohhhhh Pizza Delight !!!! I worked at PD during the 80's and actually wore the same uniform. I have lived in BC for 20 years now....I do anything for a slice of PD pizza right now!!! West coast does not do pizza well.
i remember HighLiner ads
I am looking for the commercial for Zapatas Restaurant that was located on South Street. The commercial is from the mid to late 70's. If anyone has seen it, please let me know!!!!
I loved eating there as a kid.
I think I nailed Cindy on St. Pete Beach in the mid 80s
Geordie Morgan (C100 fame) doing the voice over for the Scotia Square ad.
And here's a funny thing....that Scotia Square ad ended up using Christmas music in a July summer sale ad. It's the same song used for a pure Xmas ad for Market Square in Saint John, N.B. back in 1986. XD
TK carpets remember that song catchy back then, Ron Zuma sounds familiar
CRUSHING HIGH PRICES
I originally compiled and uploaded these. I have tons more. I couldn't find the Green Gables one.
Gnome Sane My cousins and I recreated the Green Gables ad with my aunt’s big ol’ VHS camera back in the day. Would love to find the original and recreate it with my son and his friends. If you ever find it, let me know!
czcams.com/video/-81a6pPcj4M/video.html
Oh crap, there's one I wrote in these ...
LOL TK's CARPET LOLOLOL
How about that chef from the Cindy's commercial. I didn't think that Paul Prud'homme became famous until the early '90s.
The guy in the commercial is originally from Yarmouth (and not 'cajun/Acadian.
I had casinos executive number I never waited longer than 3 min for a cab
