- How To Tie A Butchers Knot part 2. In this video i show a variation on my original butchers knot. This is a much more delicate (but just as strong knot),used for more intricate butchery, such as cuts of meat that are stuffed, for example stuffed loins, noisettes, pinwheels or cushions,or specialist products that need a more precise but delicate stringing.Shown in detail and slowed down for ease of learning..See below for the link to my original butchers knot.
Many thanks.

As always, instructive, easy to follow and well-illustrated! Scot, you're a gift to both the uninitiated and to those of us who've been around for awhile. You teach, refresh and reinforce! Thank you.
We appreciate your many instructive videos on the art of butchery. Also your tips of the trade in how to prepare fresh cuts of meat for the oven. Thank you indeed
I have only two words to say "Thank You".
Scott, your videos are brilliant. At 70 yrs. old I thought I had some good techniques but your butchers knot is outstanding! Thanks
Thanks Scott. Your skill at tying a joint has always marvelled me. It is a blur usually thanks for the slow motion!
I love your channel it has changed the way I put food on my families table all while saving a bucks! Keep it up!
Mr. Rea,
Just wanted to drop a line and say thanks for the great instructional videos. Between your channel and a few others, I have learned to get my knives razor sharp, field dress a deer, and process the meat myself. Saves me a ton of money and is a source of great pride. Thanks again from a friend in the U.S. (Btw...would be awesome if you could get your hands on a whitetail and carve one up for the channel!) "Cheers."
I just love all your movies, Your butchering, preparation and cooking, I wish I could keep them all. Continue posting :)
I'm so glad that I followed your link to this Butcher's Knot! Thank you sir!
Even better than the first knot tying video. It was great too, but I think the camera angle was better on this one. As always, top notch.
Thanks for the info
Nice knots. For years I have paid someone to process my deer, but this year I will be doing my on.
thank you, nice one.
I did enjoy it! Thanks for sharing another great training aid.
You've brought back some childhood memories. My Mam always used this knot when wrapping a parcel, to start the process off, except called it a parcel knot. I couldn't remember how it was done. A very useful knot to learn, really glad to have found your videos.
BRILLIANT!! Thanks for posting!
Rolled up tea towel works really good for practice
+Andrew Brigham great idea!
+Andrew Brigham Great idea! I will get my towel and string tomorrow and try it out. Thanks...
Brilliant tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
Had to watch it like 10 times but now I'm nailing it! Thank you so much for this (and your other videos, which I've never commented on, but keep enjoying a lot!)
great video scott. better than your first one. thanks for the update.

Scott...#2 knot is very better...your a master...brother...
nice one mate!
Thank You!
Hay Scott thanks for all the uploads i enjoy them, looking at that knot its a figure eight if your interested to know from an old 20 year vet deep sea trawler fisherman.
Talk about under-appreciated, it's a shame you have to deal with certain negative people. I for one am grateful for all you do and share with everyone, keep up the good work it is much appreciated even if it isn't always voiced.
hahaha "sexy ass knot tying music" that's a good one. You're right there's always going to be someone that acts like a douche every now and then, i just get bothered when someone takes the time to share a skill and someone else shows up to bash his work.......Scott deserves much more views and i guess, since i have learned a lot from his video, is why i feel he deserves recognition rather than negativity is all.
I must do them like that but after so many years on auto pilot I'm just knot sure .
+tony butcher I see what ya did there...
Thanks for the lesson, but why tie this around the meat, what purpose is it for?
Thanx Scott....I realy like your vids but this one I have to watch 20 times more....I can only give one like...sorry.
scott do yu send meat by post?
after so many years in tree work, I'm guessing this is a bolen knot with a half hitch?
+Michigan Mister I think it's called a packer's knot (and I'm sure there are a bunch of other names for it as well). It's hard to see with the small string but it is basically a figure eight knot tied around a standing end. A bowline knot would form a loop, but the loop is not slippery so it can't be tightened the way this knot can. Awesome video, and an incredibly helpful knot both in and out of the kitchen!
The music is very offspring of hamlet cigar advert and German porno movie! I salute you!
Seiko's are the BEST watches.
do like the music i need that for my wife if you know what i mean...
Next slow video try Hello from Lionel Richie. lol
its a sexy pole dancing butchers knot huh hahahha
If anyone else finds that the link in the description for Part 1 doesn't work then try czcams.com/video/vsKVXjHsdKg/video.html
No, can't see what you are doing. Your hands are in the way, perhaps a different camera angle. Maybe from above or with the camera facing you? It doesn't help with me being a bit dyslexic.
windshear33
I can't do it either!
I've been practicing like mad on empty stowford press cans and I've done about a dozen.
I just wish I hadn't followed the fillet knife sharpening vid first, as now I've cut me bloody hand!
Com'n Scott colour the halves of the string and slow it down more for us old slow idiots out here......
nice try scott. still to fast. do another video really slowed down
