To everyone wondering why this was called a “Hurricane”, it’s because “Hurricane” is Force 12 on the Beaufort scale, in maritime use “Hurricane” refers to any system that produces winds of or in excess of 64 knots for more than an hour, this is entirely regardless of whether or not the system was of tropical or extratropical origin.

You prune,Hurricane ONLY MEANS ACTUAL THAT FOR HURRICANES THAT ACTUALLY FORM IN THE TROPICS

Born in MI and can remember digging our house out of twenty foot snow drifts on a few occasions - took several days to completely clear the house of snow out about ten foot. I also recall digging our driveway out and using an ice chipper/scraper, just so my Pop could get to work. So glad to have moved out of the Great White North. I don't miss the snow one iota.

Most we ever had here in louisiana was 2 feet of snow.
We do get the occasional real hurricanes however.

It's where we are born and raised. We take it as prideful in Michigan to be able to wake up in the morning and deal with a foot of snow and single digits and still make it to work. It's a bitch but makes our hot summers much more appreciative. Where else in the world can it hit 100 in summer and minus 20 in the winter?
