  • In this video we look at how to lubricate your gun ...in order to keep it functioning efficiently and to stop wear and tear on all the metal parts. It's not always...."if it turns you grease it and if it slides you oil it" Stay well...happy shooting...Roger Pace

    Hi Mr. Pace,
    so far I must have watched close to a dozen of your videos.
    I started Trap shooting a year ago, and am about to get my first gun (That's how long it takes here in Germany), so my head is filled with questions.
    Your videos just give the clear answers I need, I love watching you explain.
    Keep it up,
    Nic

  • @popoaggie
    @popoaggie Před 7 lety +1

    You'd be amazed at how many shooters with break-open guns fail to grease them. Just putting light oil on these parts doesn't cut it. Metal grinding on metal every time you break it open isn't a good thing. Slamming them shut when loading takes a toll on them, too. Looks cool when John Wayne does it in the movies but it will eventually damage the firearm. Your videos are very straight forward and informative.

    • @rogerpace9322
      @rogerpace9322  Před 7 lety +2

      Tricky Dicky...Love the name...The grease is "snow" it comes in a white tube...I dont use coloured greases because you get it all over your clothes especially a brand that's black.

  •  Před 7 lety +1

    Mr. Pace another excellent tutorial. I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil as a gun lubricant. Many shooters claim it is a very good gun lube. Do you still have your Beretta Silver Pigeon 1? I noticed you have been using this shotgun lately as a demonstration tool. I look forward to your next video. Take care sir.

    • @rogerpace9322
      @rogerpace9322  Před 7 lety

      BRR...I don't know anything about Mobil 1 oil as a gun lubricant...my silver pigeon was a great gun but it did not have an adjustable comb so I traded it in for the current one you see ...the 690...Stay well...and my personal opinion is to use gun grease instead of the car oil.

  • @Eugene2ndW
    @Eugene2ndW Před 4 lety +3

    Roger, another very useful video.
    Do you use oil to lube the ejector springs? There is a tiny hole at the bottom of spring hole.

    • @rogerpace9322
      @rogerpace9322  Před 4 lety +1

      I spray around the ejectors with G96 then scrub them with a toothbrush ...wipe away the G96 and brush on the grease!!!

  • @oakdeneforestry1965
    @oakdeneforestry1965 Před 7 lety

    Question Roger do you have a way of removing all the grease ready to reapply after a shoot as grease collects dust and unburnt powder so it would end up like grinding paste.
    Thanks Roger for the vids they are very informative especially the straw on the barrels for gun fitment.
    Ahh just found your super cleaning vid so got the answer.
    Cheers Roger.

    I am curious what type of grease is it that you are using?

    • @rogerpace9322
      @rogerpace9322  Před 5 lety

      It is "Tetra" Gun grease. the manufacturers claim that it goes into the pores of the metal and is still effective if there is no visible film of grease.

    I bought my first and only AP/U it is a CZ Drake and the fit of the receiver and the barrels is incredibly tight and I have great difficulty opening it , closing is a different issue but I am sure all related. How can I loosen up the fit , I literally have to bend it open offer my knee, not very efficient

    • @rogerpace9322

      Clark... Apart from taking it to a gun smith... Tight is better than loose... Keep it well oiled and eventually all guns loosen up... Stay well and thank you for watching!!!
