Something I’ve noticed is that Laurie’s speaking/presentation skills are insanely good. He never stutters or uses filler. Plus his tats are sick and there’s his aesthetic factor. 😌
I’m about 15 minutes in I don’t understand the game yet. But this group is just my favorite and is so funny, it doesn’t really matter that I don’t understand the game… I’m sure I’ll get it by the end of the video

Yeah this group is densely packed my NRB favourites.
Truth be told, there have been a lot of videos where I completely lost track of how the game is played. I mostly just listen to the banter between the players in the background when I play games on my second monitor.
Am I the only person who finds the constant high-pitched noises and voices distracting? I usually enjoy the banter, but sometimes it seems more bits than actual gameplay.
Sullivan may be the Lord of the Board, but Jon is definitely Bored of the Lord

Trying to listen while working, no idea what the rules are, no idea who is winning, but it sounds like they are having a wonderful time and grunting is somehow a major mechanic.

I was fully expecting them to mock Jon for losing his lord of the board and have Sullivan act as abnoxious and cocky as possible about it. I'm glad it finally happened, I was almost starting to feel disappointed!
I would also like to point out the Sully is wearing the crown this entire time, even though, how we learned form Jon, it's really uncomfortable and hard to wear. Maybe it's just his skill issue? Look at him, he never were a good lord of the board anyway! All hail Sullivan, the new and way better lord of the board!
Love that you are playing Nidavellir! This has been a favourite of my group for a while and it can be very tactical trying to think of your own points as well as screwing over everyone else.

Yeah I understand it may hard mechanic wise but for it to end with no pay off feels weird to me, just got me excited to see Laurie fight a dragon and then when he didn’t i was like ‘oh, ok then’ also feel like there’s no actual end game to it either

The expansions are a calm explosion of strategic options.

Few corrections to the rules for my fellow viewers.
21:40 There are no heroes that let you swap other people's coins around. Laurie probably meant Uline which let's you play your coins from your hand during bidding phase instead of placing those on your board.
39:40 Jon couldn't have removed 2 cards from the same column when placing Dagda. Those cards must be from different columns.
47:00 Idunn increases each of your blue cards bravery value by 2. It has nothing to do with the other columns. Or at least I thought Laurie's explanation was bit off.
47:53 You have you have 5 blue cards BEFORE you can add the Hourya to your army, it can't be the fifth.
52:05 Thrud doesn't count as your green (nor any other coloured card) at the end when counting bravery points. Before counting points you remove Thrud from your army to your command zone and only count it as 13 points.
Wait, there’s no mechanic for fighting the dragon? I thought the game wasn’t over until the dragon is vanquished?

I liked the video when Laurie said 'It's a vicious circle!'... Then Lord of the Board shenanigans happened and I went to like the video, realized I already did, and was genuinely sad that I couldn't like it twice! This never happened to me before.
Blair no!!!! I thought for sure on her 2-Hero play she'd grab the Blue Hero and then the 5 Point Miner, but she went with the 20 Point Blue instead! I spent the whole game wondering if that was a blunder, so I did the math. Massive tl;dr: if she had grabbed the miner, at the time it would have changed her miners' combined value from 15 to 48, a total of 13 points More than from the 20 Pointer. She ultimately did stick to the Miner strat and at the end of the game, had she grabbed the Miner Hero, her Miner value would have gone up to 80 from the 35 without Hero Miner, which would have given her 25 points more at the end of the game and she would have tied with Laurie for first place! Oh well.
Ignore all that. This was a great game, and I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm in a game shop. Great showing all of you!

Does anyone else feel this channel is gone too corporate? I used to watch this all the time but now I feel like something has been lost. I get the ads you got to pay everyone who comes on, but I feel like an edge to this has been lost.
They created two new channels, they do way more livestreams than they ever did, and are inviting many new guests. It's capitalism, what can we do? The content is still fire, and that's all I care about

No, not really. Someone has to pay and I personally prefer this solution over less content (they have also been very focused on Patreon lately and I hope people support the channel as they can). Plus, they are very clear about when something is advertising and never seem to censor themselves.
Nope. Unless you really don't want them to have anyone showing up to play and pay for the new studio and equipment. They have a roleplaying channel that everyone wanted them to have. They do several other things. I don't think they lost their edge at all. They are about one of the few channels I can watch almost anything they play. I just really don't get anti sponsorship thing. They are up front about everything. They are not reviewing games so no tainted reviews. They basically play games and we watch them to have fun. Just look at how many people are in NRB now. They do have jobs so yea someone has to pay them. NRB survived loosing one of their main hosts and managed to expand. Plus really I don't see the corporate aspect to them.
