That Vega takes me back as we had one for our caravan when i was a kid, weirdly one popped up only a few weeks ago on a Radio site i use and i was close to grabbing it. Nice to see yours has the original box. Thanks for the video Jane.

I had never heard of and AVO meter before now. Such an interesting instrument and history!
It was by far one of the finest analogue multimeters. A real quality instrument.

I cant't wait to see an episode on the Psion Organiser. I couldn't justify buying one when they were new. About a decade later I got a Palm Pilot instead, I had a lot more money by then.

To my mind the AVO 8 was the finest multimeter ever made. Sadly I never owned one, but two places I worked had them.
Yes the AVO 8 is a lovely meter. They are still very useful for certain types of measurements that fluctuate a bit which are not easy to see on a digital meter without filtering. Also some of the earlier models can measure up to 3KV.
