Where Next For Nico Hulkenberg?

  • So its no secret that Hulkunberg isn't all that happy with the performance of HAAS and the lack of development. With the crazy driver switcheroo on the horizon for the 2025 season, I look at what his options are and where he could go.....and why. Names like Sauber and Audi are floating around but he could also be very useful at Williams and HAAS.
    I think all of F1 wants Hulk to finally get a break so he can at least retire with a piece of silverware. Could one more team move finally allow him to get that podium place? Let's see!

    Hulk is going to need to pray for some wet races if the Haas car is bad. Seems like the only way he be able to shine and keep his name out there in the market.

    I was so sad when he was on track for his first win and ended up spinning in the rain in the renault He's a solid driver for sure I think audi would want him tbh

    I know this is far fetched and would not happen but Hülkenberg could be a great Number 2 driver at say Red Bull he could be their Rubens Barrichello type driver. Capable of being a solid points winner or even winning races when needed. But more so a great Number 2 to Max or whoever Red Bull or any top team really wanted to pair him with. Again I know it's not going to happen. But I still think he would fit that role the best and be happy doing it.

      @thegridgab  Před 4 měsíci +3

      Oh big time! He would be the perfect number 2 to Max.

      @@thegridgab You could make a better argument for this than I could. Just take Red Bull for example. All their young drivers and Ricciardo are going to be hungry for championships and be the number 1 driver. Hülkenberg just seems to fit that number 2 driver role at a big team. I think you couldn't ask for a more safe bet as number 2 and seems like he would be happy just getting podiums and wins.

      Depending on how Perez does this year, I might just have to make a video on it

      @@thegridgabPlease do. It would be interesting. The other option I just thought of is Red Bull's second team Racing Bulls. He would be a great tutor to the new young drivers and a good yard stick to compare to and he might get a few podiums as well

    The mark of a special driver, is not winning the Championship, because it's mainly the car, instead it's the ability to put a slower car up at the front. Hulkenberg is such a driver.

    Nico needs to leave HASS. Unless HASS become competitive which probably won't happen due to loss of Gunther Steiner and a restructuring season in 2024.

      And it's about time. He's an underachiever who failed to prove worthy of a competitive F1 seat. All he's good for is to pick up some points here and there. Never understood why he's so hyped.

    • @MachineMetropolis
      @MachineMetropolis Před 4 měsíci

      @@mvm9407 he's hyped up by the other drivers - he's well-respected on the grid. He should have been given a shot in a fast car to see what he could do, like Grosjean who picked up 9 podiums

    • @mvm9407
      @mvm9407 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@MachineMetropolis But he did have a shot in a fast car. That was the Force India from 2014 and forth. Pérez got six podiums with those cars, while his team mate The Hulk had exactly the same number of podiums he has now - zero. The problem with Hülkenberg, whose career I started to follow back in 2006, when he was showing huge potential, is that he can't mentally cope with F1's competitiveness. Maybe that's because he is too much of a nice guy, but everytime he was on the brink of a great result, he failed clamorously. Brazil 2012 and Germany 2019 are the best examples of that weakness of his.
      And allow me a small correction: Romain Grosjean has 10 podiums, not 9.

    • @MachineMetropolis
      @MachineMetropolis Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@mvm9407 1 second off isn't a fast car. He never had a car where podiums were possible without a tonne of luck. That's what I want to see because there's different kinds of pressure.
      He's always been good in qualifying, which is high pressure bring your best or lose out; same with overtaking and defending - very few accidents.
      With Perez you can see that he can't handle the pressure of having a teammate so far ahead of him and ends up going even slower...I think Hulk would do fine there because he's more mature and realistic and doesn't care that much what people think.
      He gives very insightful and honest interviews and is friendly but I wouldn't say he's a nice guy either, just humble. I find him similar to Alonso - or he would be more if he were out winning races. What ended his career wasn't fumbling podiums, it was not being equally matched with Danny Ric. He was rather "hot" with interest/rumours at that time and if he'd done that, he would have been in a top team I think.
