Thanks!
When you say speak it is พูด you have it as pood in Roman letters. As far as I know when daw dek is at the end of a word you pronounce it as a “T” sound. I know you only halfway pronounce the last symbol of a word. Just want to make sure I’m saying it correctly is all.
Great video, thank you Jack.

น้ำดื่ม shorten form of น้ำ-สำหรับ-ดื่ม (Water for drinking). We can have น้ำกลั่น (Water for Battery). You can see the following word after น้ำ (nam) is using for describe the type or purpose of those water. So you can start with word ดื่ม(duem) and then noun/adjective e.g. ดื่มเหล้า (ดื่ม duem - เหล้า Lhao) Drink alcohol, ดื่มเบียร์ (Drink Beer) etc. This is polite and formal way to say Drink(ดื่ม - Duem) in Thai.
However, there are informal word you can see in daily basis to represent the drinking action, กิน - gin (to eat). กินเหล้า(กิน gin - เหล้า Lhao), กินเบียร์ (กิน gin - เบียร์ beer). You can use ดื่ม or กิน in general sentences but for the formal one we'll use ดื่ม(duem).
If word ดื่ม follow by phrase or adjective/noun, it can translate to embrace or immerse based on the context and sentences. Thinking in an abstract way about the liquid that you absorb when you take a drink. But instead of liquid, it can also be joyful and happiness or even sadness you absorb into your mind based on following phrase or words.
Love this guy so much. Best teacher by far.

Thank you for the interesting lesson! I have a question, in the example in 16:16 your pronounciation of แน่น sounded like เน่น to me. Is that just the normal way to pronounce this word?
I just went back and listened to it, and I heard myself say แน่น but the sound is a bit short, close to the sound of the แอะ vowel. The long vowel แอ and the short vowel แอะ can sometimes sound similar, depending on the final consonant. In this word, it has น as the final consonant, which makes the sound sonorant. It's difficult to distinguish whether the vowel is long or short when we speak, because the sonorant sound makes words like nan that we pronounce it with a long or short sound similar. Saying them twice naturally makes it hard to control. But I don't think I heard myself say the word เน่น because it has the เอ vowel. For example, when we say the word nen with a falling tone, you can hear the difference in sound compared to "nan." This difference is due to how we shape our mouth while pronouncing them. 😅🙏😁
@@IgetThais Thank you Jack for the detailed answer, I appreciate it! That means I have to train my hearing some more when it comes to the difference of these sounds.
1 word a day. Hehehe
But no one says ดื่มเหล้า. It's always กิน. At least in spoken Thai...

how to say put down your hand?
You can just say "ao mue long" (เอามือลง). "Ao" means to get or take, "mue" means hand, and "long" means down. So, it's like telling someone to "put your hand down" or "lower your hand."
