Sam Elliott currently stars alongside Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in Warner Bros. Pictures "A Star is Born." He has an iconic career that began with a bit part in the classic film “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.” He rose to stardom playing the lead in the cult classic “Lifeguard,” and has since built a career with many memorable and iconic film and television roles.
Elliott’s upcoming film work includes “The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot,” directed by Robert Krzykowski and executive produced by John Sayles. On television, Elliott currently stars opposite Ashton Kutcher in the hit Netflix comedy series “The Ranch,” which recently began production on its fourth season.
Recently, Elliott received rave reviews for his starring turn in Brett Haley’s “The Hero,” opposite Laura Prepon and Nick Offerman, making it his second feature with Haley, following “I’ll See You in My Dreams.” His other notable film credits include “Mask,” “Fatal Beauty,” “Road House,” “Rush,” “Gettysburg,” “Tombstone,” “The Big Lebowski,” “The Hi-Lo Country,” “The Contender,” “We Were Soldiers,” “Off the Map,” “Hulk,” “Thank You for Smoking,” “Barnyard,” “Ghost Rider,” “The Golden Compass,” “Up in the Air,” “Did You Hear About the Morgans?,” “Marmaduke,” “The Company You Keep,” “Draft Day,” “Digging for Fire,” “Grandma,” “The Good Dinosaur” and “Rock Dog.”
Elliott’s television credits include a recurring role on the hit FX series “Justified,” for which he won a 2015 Critics’ Choice Award, Netflix’s “Grace and Frankie,” and the NBC comedy “Parks and Recreation.” He was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role in the 1995 CBS miniseries “Buffalo Girls.” His other television movie credits include “Avenger,” “You Know My Name,” “Conagher”-for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe-and “The Quick and the Dead.” In 2013, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Voiceover Performance for his work on the popular Cartoon Network series “Robot Chicken.”
I just saw him in the grocery store. I didn’t dare say anything while we stood in line but as I walked to my car he was parked right next to me … as he backed out I waved and smiled …. He rolled down his window and commented on my hair (it was “salty hair don’t care” as I’d been in the ocean that morning, it was a mess… ) but he smiled so big and was so sweet to return my hello. I had just watched Lifeguard a month ago and I was over the moon to see him and say hello. It really made my day! Sam you’re a Gemstone!!!!

Watching this interview, I'm struck as to how loud and deafening Mr. Elliott's pauses are. No words said or exchanged during those moments but boy, oh boy, it speaks volumes.
This man has a voice that one will listen to and the stature to watch! He has a great sense of humour too! Could listen to him all day! He is also from the Pacific Northwest where I am!
This man stuns me, in all his fame and sexiness, his ability to just be who he is...fidgety and all, the lack of arrogance surprises me, he is himself, no apologies. Oscar should have been in his hands many years ago. I see films that would have been better with Sam Elliott in them. There is not another actor who could have played his role in "Mask" or "You know My Name". A man's man by far, but, a ladies man, well yes ! (sigh...) What a wonder it would be to spend a day in that mind of his....to see more deeply into all the facets of this gem. Good interview. He has a good heart, he holds a lot, still hidden.
This man could be a US president with the boom of that voice it just shows leadership with the deep heavy voice
Jenelle Riley is absolutely brilliant as an interviewer. Sam Elliot is always so real and natural and interesting and on and on. This could have lasted another hour and I'd still be making the same comment.
In my opinion, Sam Elliot and Sean Connery have the most beautiful masculine voices I've ever heard.
hopefully "A Star is Born" will bring him his first Oscar nom (maybe even win?). It's crazy that he never got nominated after all these terrific performances. Just last year he'd make a worthy nominee for "The Hero". He looks bit tired recently, but still a great interviewee. Funny, charismatic, generous, no ego and keeps sharing great anecdotes. Jenelle is doing a great job as usual.

I've rewatched this episode with Mr. Elliott I don't know how many times, I've lost count lol. This episode never gets old. I could sit and listen to Mr. Elliott tell these stories all day and then some. Amazing talent.
My 89 year old husband came in and seeing what I'm watching and listening to he asked "what's his name", I said the sexiest man alive then I took off the ear phones and he said you like his voice too. I have a deep voice in fact sang tenor with the guys in high school. I still sing tenor parts in church now. Sending love and hugs to all. Boy this interviewer really does a good job of putting you at ease this is the most talkative and revealing I’ve ever seen Sam Elliot. He kept bringing out unknown personal information about himself.

Mr. Elliott should not be considered as type cast after playing the chief of staff in The Contender. Great movie, story, casting and directing!

The movie Mask had to have been a hard role for Sam Elliott, actually anybody. His heart is as wonderful as his voice! He is sex6 in his looks, voice heart, soul and mostly he does not act like he's better than anybody else!

Anyone who thinks they can go through this life without ever being corrected is just another unreal son of a gun. But Sam’s got a style that’s particularly appealingly in this day and age when there aren’t too many guys around like him any more.
He’s a confidence boosting character that has that attractive down to earth quality of humility.
I personally like him much more than John Wayne and I reckon a whole lot of people feel the same way, But I do wish he wouldn’t take the Lords name in vain like he did on this video. Anyway that’s my beef.
