1984 seeing the damned on the young ones at the tender age of 14, set me on the path of classic punk, goth alternative music. Used to listen to the damned and other bands a lot. However the damned are 1 of maybe 5 bands that I can listen to everyday...and I do mean each and ever day. Love❤❤❤❤❤❤ the damned forever and always.
I love that band since first time I saw them in 1987, I was 15 ! now I'm 50 and still love them so much . Never disappoint me compared to many others ahah !
Dave is so fit for his age, an incredible front man with his energy. Been a fan since I was 15 in 1977 but never got to see them u till 5 years ago, absolutely brilliant played a lot of the old classics.
The damned are so awesome. Grew up listening to all the other classic punk bands as a kid in the 80s but never got into the damned. Have been listening to their entire catalog and I’m amazed! I hear their influences in so many other bands (misfits, AFI, youth brigade, alkaline trio among others). Machine gun etiquette is a great album.
If you *REALLY* want to hear The Damned’s influence on another band, look no further than “Beneath The Shadows” by TSOL. Even Jack from TSOL himself has admitted several times that the Damned were their biggest influence, and that particular album was a direct response to both The Black Album and Strawberries.
@@Shikta-poobah67 awesome man. I used to listen to TSOL in middle school as a little skateboarder. I liked them a lot. They had a random hard rock album in the 80s.
@@slashtrio They kind of became a completely different band in the mid/late 80’s. By ‘89 they had no original members left in the band but they carried on calling themselves TSOL. They had gone full hair metal by then. I’m mainly just a fan of the original lineup, and the first album they made with Joe (Change Today?). I stop listening after that one. Anyway, check out Beneath The Shadows some time. You’ll definitely hear a major Damned influence. They caught a lot of shit for that album when it came out. People were expecting them to do “Code Blue” over and over, I guess. Most people appreciate it today at least.
Grew up with them, saw them in the Odeon Edinburgh 79/80?….remember that venue?…was the best place in Scotland next to Glasgow’s Apollo for gigs… Maybe they should play the Legends slot at Glastonbury…. Anyone fancy starting a petition? 🤪😎
Joder, están viendo una de las bandas más míticas y maravillosas de la historia,y en estado de gracia! Y algunos parecen putas momias! Gracias por grabar y subir esta maravilla!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😃😃
It was awesome in Auckland NZ but, dudes, everyone was waiting for the classics. They patiently waited because you’re an amazing band but it was like ‘play Looking At You ffs!’ Also, you know it’s an ‘original audience’ when the sea of people put their glasses on when you go on stage😀
Wow, Street of Dreams to start with. Has America changed its Covid laws now or has the Captain had his jabs now? He was absent from the last time they hit the states cause of this and Troy van Winkle from Queens otsa stood in, it wasn`t watchable but i did.
Seen them sometime in the seventies at approximately 18 years old, and they were unbelievable awesome, with Rat Scabies on drums. He’s so much more energetic then this drummer.
They were a great band but sound like a caberet act now, last 3 albums disappointed me! nearly time to turn it in or at least get rid of Monty, that has to be the thinnest keyboard sound I have ever heard, they have the original samples used on Paul Sheppley's EMU II, why don't they use them? because Monty is too tight to buy even a sample player and uses old Roand keyboards, I don't think he even had any reverb on the sounds at this gig, get Shepply back or even better Roman Jugg and his organ.
The two tubbsters on the side of the stage gotta go! One yawning while the other checks his watch during Captains behind his back solo. Lame& distracting

Oh Yes
My first time was 1986 I was 14. They are the best

And his vocals have never been better. At least when he avoids doing that growling thing that he does on a lot of their newer recordings.

How about minor threat...ripped bass intro from love song on more thane one instance.

I saw them back in 1976 And I am old

I was 6 years old
😂😂😂😂😂@@glenfdoss
@@glenfdoss did you go on your own?
Would have been nice if they kept the original lineup reunion together for some US shows.
Fantastic thanks for sharing!
I'm also a decrepit limey 😂

Great set and the pretenders backstage acting uninterested are annoying. Get into the Damned!
Both bands are actually good friends. Miserable looking sods, though.
@@GilbertSyndrome Oh ok. Sorry 🙂 I see the smiles later. My bad 🙂
Better in the dark

What????
Trying to tell the Damned what to do is..?

Sounding better than ever!
Oxy's ok. but you need a new drummer.

Blimey, maybe it is just great that they are still out there.,.maybe stop complaining for once? Try to be happy, maybe!

I hate seeing people on the side of the stage, should be just the roadie and that's it!
I think they're roadies or crew at least.
They were working, believe it or not.
What the hell is James May doing on the keyboards !!!!
