Not many bands are truly avant garden and accessible. Devo hit that mark like no other, and gloriously I might add. Against the odds, they made music that transcended the time and still moves me. This elevates them to one of the greatest in what we (someone did, it stuck) call rock and roll.

Slipknot had replaced NIN as the headliner about a month before the show, so there were a lot of hardcore Slipknot fans up front. If it were NIN fans, they probably would’ve been more into Devo due to Josh Freese’s history, NIN’s new wave roots, and Devo’s Head Like a Hole cover. Also, the crowd was more fun on the right side. With the way the barricades are set up, there’s more room to move around and mosh on the right than on the left.

I was almost exclusively a metal head/hard rocker in the late 70s and 80s, but I made two exceptions - one for the B-52s and one for Devo🤘😉

Everyone looks amazing, especially Jerry Casale, he has lost weight and years! In 2020, Mark Mothersbaugh almost didn´t make it, on a hospital ventilator with Covid for two months . . . just look at him now!!! It IS a beautiful world!!!

This is great - thank you for videoing the whole set and sharing it with the rest of us! I still love Devo after 40+ years, and I'm so grateful that they've been back rocking out on stage for the rest of us spuds. I still have to stop myself from jerking around in a spasmodic robotic fashion every time I hear a Devo song😆

he chose that guitar, a labaye 2x4, back in the 70's because it was the worst-sounding electric guitar he ever heard, and if you've ever heard a real labaye you'd understand..... it really does sound like crap.
