    My high school wind ensemble was about to play all 4 movements for our UIL competition but then Corona said "not today sir"

    The French Horns add so much sass to the first movement. That's the only way I can put it.

    Those high B's in the horns in the beginning were stunning. Very well done!

    This arrangement is so amazing! Especially love the finale, it's so friggin' powerful. I love the orchestral version, but the finale alone takes the cake for me.

      I've played in the antiphonal brass for this piece. A lot of fun. The Kalinikov Finale also.

    If you look at the playlist of all the music this orchestra plays, it reads like the entire Drum Corps International (DCI) music catalog....They've played just about everything Drum Corps have played over the years

    My high school's top band played this piece but in a faster tempo. God....the piano part was quite challenging, but this piece is by far the best piece I had ever played at high school.

      I think this is the transcription from De Haske Publishers, with the arranger being, yes, Yoshihiro Kimura.

    • @windsofnagual
      @windsofnagual Před 3 lety

      I think Eiji Suzuki is arranger. TKWO didn’t recorded Kimura’s arrangement.

      If only the articulations and tonging on winds weren't as difficult as similarly played on strings in the original orchestral version...

    Is it true this band consists of middle-highschool players?

    Pines of Rome is meant to be much slower. Should be Crotchet = 60
